Now that i've composed myself...

SkeletonofSociety Wrote:
Ok I havn't had the chance to go online since last night, but One Night Stand was by far the best PPV I have seen since '01's Guilty as Charged!!! I have never been so happy and giddy about wrestling like that in a long long time. Not sure if this little fact is totally clear but ECW was the end all be all of wrestling for me. I was hooked from the first time I heard about it (back when Lawler brought RVD to Raw and called him Mr. Monday Night), and last night just was a great moment. Granted, in a perfect world there would have been a bigger card and more of the old roster would have been there, but hell I'm not complaining, infact I'm eternally greatful.

Highlights of the night for me:

-Joey Styles. The greatest play by play man ever in wrestling. JR can't hold a candle to him. I was just so happy to see him back on the mike. Seeing him near tears I began to get chocked up.

-RVD's shoot promo. WOW I wasn't sure what to expect, but the second he said "Hey remember back when I had a vocabulary? Remember when I used to say more than "whatever" and Cool"? He just poured his heart out, and it really is a shame he couldn't perfom last night.

-Paul Heyman's shoot promo. I gotta say that man has more balls than anyone else on the planet to say what he had to say. I was wondering what he was refering to when he said earlier "I might get fired when the night is over", and now I know. It was bad enough that he brought up the Edge and Lita affair that got Matt Hardy fired, but what he said to JLB was an extreme low blow(parden the pun) that just had to be said. We all knew it but for Heyman to say it I was like "Holy fuckin Shit!!!"

-Tommy Dreamer's fairwell. That was it for him and it was a great way to go, doing what he loved. He's had "hardcore" matches in WWE, but NONE were even close to what his ECW matches were like. That was a perfect finish to a career like his.

-Every match was awsome when compaired to what WWE has been dishing out these past few years, but I'll admit Rey/Psycosis could have been better and so could Benoit/Guerrero. Those kinda dissapointed me, but hey, once again better than what WWE regurgitates constantly.

-Like I said I was happy to see those who were there, but I was royally pissed when Danny Doring got cut off by JLB. I really loved Doring and Roadkill (my #2 fav. tag team behind the Impact Players) and for them to get cut off was a bit of a slap in the face.

-The only really bad stufff about the show was how involved WWE was. It took away quite abit from what the show was meant for. It was put together to give ECW fans what they have been screaming from since the Invasion angle (you know the one that looked like it was going to be WCW, WWE, and ECW, then they added in Shane and Stephanie, and it became WCW vs WWE) and to still have WWE present was really annoying.

-Best two matches of the night were Awesome/Tanaka and the main event. Super Crazy/Tajiri/Little Guido comes in very close behind those two.

-The entire show just goes to show how WWE so horribly missused the ECW talent they aquired.

-One more sidenote that I just have to cover, and that's how much of an asshole JLB is. Not only did he go above and beyond the call of duty when he did an impromt-to shoot on Smackdown (that was editted out) but he intentionally busted open The Blue Meanie. For more on that story though I'd just recommending reading the story here

Thank you Paul Heyman. Thank you for years of entertainment, and one final night to showcase ECW one more time.

I agree with all that, and then some.

I think that was the best PPV i've seen in... Since I can remember. Quite possibly the best i've ever seen. Reason being is that the card wasn't particularly spectacular (let's face it, the Dudley Boys in the main even is pretty so-so on paper, even if they are a very good tag team), but dispite that, every one of those matches was absolutely awesome. They didn't need The Rock VS Hogan or Austin VS Taker for the pay per veiw to be good, it would have been good no matter who was there, and the outcome of the matches didn't even matter that much.

Paul Heyman's promo was great. As was RVD's. As was Joey Styles ripping into whoever he saw fit (ie: wishing Mike Awesome had killed himself, heh).

Even though I do agree that WWE was perhaps a bit more involved than they should have been, it really only added fuel to the fire and gave the people a chance to say what they wanted and hear what they wanted. If all those WWE guys wern't there then we'd have never heard "Fuck you Bischoff" chants, and never have seen all those great shoot promo's.
(By the way, when Bischoff got beat up at the end, did anybody else notice that it was only by WWE employees? Maybe i'm reading too much into this, but it seems like they were trying to keep him from getting roughed up by pissed off ECW guys...)

Kinda sucked that Raven wasn't there but he couldn't make it so that's fine.
And yeah, Sandman's entrance was the best i've ever seen.

If you're a wrestling fan and you don't see this PPV before you die then you suck at life. "I laughed, I cried, I had a nice day."
I also got pissed off that I have to go back to watching Vince's souless shit again.sad

Am I the only one who isn't shocked or surprised at all by what Heyman said about JBL/HHH? I mean, maybe I don't understand what he meant.
What did he mean by what he said?

"The only reason you were WWE champion for a year is because Triple H didn't wanna work Tuesdays!" = You're Triple H's bitch / You're just an undeserving and insignificant filler for the spot as champ on Smackdown.

At least that's what I took it to mean, anyway.

That quote from Heyman was awesome, alot of the things said were great like Joey Styles when he saw Edge."Oh! Hide your wives, its Edge!"

One of the better was the crowd chanting "You suck dick!" at Kurt Angle for a good minute then him finally coming back with "Your mother taught me how!".Smooth Kurt, smooth. tongue

And also...

"Kid Kash will be making his WWE debut this Sunday as he wrestled Tajiri on the WWE Sunday Night Heat taping in a singles match last night. Kid Kash recently left TNA due to being unhappy with the company and signed with WWE."

From nodq, looks like I will actually watching Heat for once.

Kash isnt big enough for the likings of alot of guys I guess.Hes damn good but hes small.I hope he climbs the ranks quickly though, eventually going for the I.C. title.

Anyone else wondering what his finisher is going to be?They wont let him use the Money Maker cause its a piledriver,an awesome piledriver at that. Then you got the Frog Splash, but we already have Eddie and RVD once he comes back using it.

I could give a shit less about WCW, but if he gives the rights to ECW to anyone other then Paul Heyman, it's a horrible thing.

Man, everyone hates on WCW, lol. I'd watch that shit more than WWE anyday.

Yeah, for sure i'm buying the one night stand DVD. I guess it's going to have a lot of backstage shit in it, too. That's always a huge plus. Missed the PPV, but I will see it before I die. tongue

WTF is up with TNA? They dropped the WGN deal, so where the fuck are they now? Man, I was looking forward to watching becker and TNA on the same night, lol. That would have been sweet.

Raw was bleh. Though, the woooo contest was nice. HHH was all "hey, that's gimmick infringement Kurt, and you know it." lol, that was funny shit. Nice to see kurt on Raw, though. Shelton is just amazing, they need to keep him going. Put him in some cage match and let him do a matrix walk up the cage or something.

And SD just got 10000x shittier with the new draft pick. sad Sad, sad day.

'Taker is such a joke nowdays.
He's not intimidating, he's not all-powerful, he has no purpose (storyline wise) and he only shows up once every few weeks - often just to lose, get pissed on, or have a 10 second stare down with somebody followed by a chokeslam/tombstone, and that's it. Yay.

Anyway Angle on Raw is supergood.
HBK, Benoit, Triple H, Edge, Orton, etc, there's just so many potentially good matches. Although, pretty much any match with Angle is going to be good anyway.

I'm predicting that Cena goes back to Smackdown, or he loses the belt soon and whoever wins it from him gets drafted to Smackdown. On the other hand, it wouldn't make much sense for him to get a customised belt and lose it a few weeks later so I dunno. Maybe Cena drops it to Captain Charisma (oh yeah, i'm one of his peeps alright), who gets drafted to Smackdown, and Cena then follows him back to Smackdown chasing the title and wins it back in a matter of weeks. That way, Smackdown gets a championship, beefs up it's roster, pushes Christian as a main eventer, and the customised belt stays.

At the moment though, it's looking like Benoit is a major contender for whatever title ends up on Smackdown so i'd say there's a pretty good chance we're gonna see a belt on him soonish. Excellent.

Edit: Cool sign on Raw - "Push HHH".

I think most those wins came by either disqualification or count out (or cheating). I don't recall him ever actually pinning Undertaker. Half of the wrestlers John "Potbelly" Layfield ever defended his championship against, he had to cheat to some degree to maintain the title.

As for the US title. My prediction is, if the draft still takes place after Raw's next PPV, then the winner of the Batista/HHH match (who will have the heavyweight title) will be called into SM! Therefor, there will be a switch in the top titles from both shows.

*pats new sig and av* Benoit!

I didnt like JBL beating Taker again. He hasnt been on tv since wrestlemania and is greeted with a loss.Orton RKO'ing Taker came as a shock to me,wasnt expecting it.

MNM making fun of Heidenreich was funny. The one part I liked was Mileena calling Michelle fat then you hear Nitro yell 'Haha fatty!'

That reminds me, did you see when a a person(or possibly a group) threw like the candy back inside the ring where everyone was at. I could sware I saw someone throw something towards them. I just noticed a silver little thing fly out of the audience towards the ring. I found that funny.

Btw, I thought Orton doing the RKO on taker was great. So unexpected. I always liked orton(even with evolution), except for that one biggest mistake he did. sad

Dude, he was off with good reason, his wife just gave birth to their newest little daughter, plus when you've been around in the company as long as he has, you can pretty much take time off whenever you want, and the guys is soooo popular that "true fans" don't really care how long he stays away, they know he'll be back eventually!! So yeah, I'm a Taker fanboy so lay off Taker, lol! tongue grin

WOW! ECfuck'nW One Night Stand was a hell of a ppv! Great matches, and seeing Joey Styles back again in the commentary position was gold!

Raw was blah! Angle to Raw, there was a "great" move! tongue Even better, was stupid Orton to SD! Man the draft started off good, no it's just getting stupid again. Orton sucks any way, so I guess he's a 'B' wrestler and deserves to be on the 'B' show in SD. Taker, who's wayyy better, should kick Orton's ass again, and then cause he's an 'A' wrestler, go to the 'A' show in Raw.

My take on the WWE title situation with Cena to Raw, is that in future, unless someone like Batista is traded to Raw with the World title, or Christion or Chris Jericho beat Cena and become WWE Champ, the Smackdown is fucked, and since I hate the show any way, that's not a bad thing!! grin tongue

Man, sucks not having TNA on friday's anymore. sad I think we all love watching the world series of darts.....retarded. Anywho, I guess Amazing Red is getting ready to come back to action in TNA, not sure if it will be at the Slamaversery or not, though. Somoa Joe is expected to rep at the PPV, so that will be cool to have him on the roster. I really want to get that PPV, but man, the Pride PPV is this coming weekend, as well. I don't have enough money for both. So, I go with pride. War Fedor!!! tongue

Is this shit legit with Joey Styles possibly signing with WWE for comentary? That would be sweet, but also kind of a waste. Meh, whatever. And yeah, SD is looking soooo goood, lol. Hope they pull some stuff out. I like that idea of Cena following CLB to SD. That would be one fun ass fued to watch. Christian would be like wtf, marky mark, lol.

Zentile, good to see you throwing that wrastlin' shit down man. Seriously, I hope that shit works out for you. smile Have you been working that school over for a while now, or did you just start? Got a finnisher yet? tongue

Yeah I heard about that. I think it's just more of a "using his likeness" type of deal, or maybe doing commentary for future ECW DVD's or something. I don't think Vince would approve of the Joey Styles we all know shooting left right and center all throughout Smackdown or something. imagine it: "Look at this Orton, what a womanizing jackass! And where's all the WRESTLING matches? I'm not employed to look at woman in bikini's all day! Hardcore Holly is a dickhead! DROP HIM ON HIS NECK, CALLOWAY!" tongue

Good luck with your training too Zentile, if it works out.
