Does anyone else hate Crank That by Soulja Boy?

Not bad NM. They make alot of "pop-rap" though. If it could even be called that.
Saying that from my perspective, that kind of Hip Hop leaves alot to be desired. Based on my enviorment, these artists speak improperly about specific issues...to me. (i.e. racism, prejudice, constant violence, neglect, passive oppression, ect ect..) But they have their good periods though.
Now, I can listen to some Black Eye Peas songs, but their group//group members are never on the list "to buy"(I don't know who the other guy is). Which I think is a fine choice of preference. Nothin wrong with that.

What if that meant you'd get a cluster fuck of artist who exploited homosexuals, politics, and the actual real shooters//killers?

Wouldn't you "hate it" just as much if this was the norm?

I actually wish it'd go back to gangsta rap, like NWA, Ice Cube, and Snoop Doggs early career. Its better then what we have now.

Though a majority of hip-hop/rap sucks hip-hop/rap may still make a comeback.Has anyone heard Chamillionaire's new album,Ultimate VIctory, it is reminiscent of 2Pac's poetic days.In addition Public Enemy released a new album that was really good. From the bits i've heard of
Jay-Z's new album it is also really good. Also later this year G-Unit(50 cents rap group whose one album is better than all of 50 cents solo albums) will be realsing their second album and to make sure its better than all of their previous work they refuse to realese it unitl Eminem has contributed to it and Eminem and Dr.Dre have approved it.Also in 2008 Dr. Dre and Eminem will both be realsing new albums and Elton John decided his next album will be hip-hop(listen to "2 Man Show" from Timbaland's Shock Value and you'll know why i think he can pull it off)and he plans to have both Eminem and Snoop Dogg on it.So hopefully by 2009 hip-hop/rap will be good once more!

I'll just say, that ~looks~ like a direct contradiction.

Hip Hop is not gone, or dead, or dormant. So I don't feel like a "comeback" is an accurate description for what's going on now days. I think alot of people //up and comers sold out. I think alot of Hip Hop is damaged. Saying that a great percentage of newcomers felt, in order to appeal to the market, they made songs that catered to the audience. Instead of making the music that is true to themselves.
It's why I don't find an issue with this Soljia Boy song. Haha, because judging by his delivery, and more importantly, his vocabulary, it sounds like what he should be making.....a dance song. No substance besides the fact that you can dance to it. He's doing him, and that's the important part.
For fans, the main problem with Hip Hop today is that we have to elaborately search for "the good artist". Which is too much work for most people.
For the artists, the main problem with Hip Hop is that it's become too much about business....and about money. Which further develops attitudes and egos and shit. Leads to violence alot of the times.
For instance, general population is not supposed to have their nose all into how many records an artist sold. Makes the artist work harder to produce a good album yea, but it becomes more about numbers than good music.....In this case anyway.

I'm not in to Chamillionaire too much, so I can't relate....and therefor see it as a kind of insult to Tupac.
---------------
Jay-Zs' latest album got bad reviews from where I stand, and I wasn't feeling it too much either. Even though the singles were hot.
---------------
As far as Interscope//Aftermath(Dr Dre)//Shady(Eminem)//G-Unit(50Cent) record labels, I'll wait and see. Even though they catch alot of flack, I generally like their music. Mainly Banks and Buck. 50 has is moments on the underground//mixtape circuit, and Yayo even less on the same circuit.

There's no way in heaven I'd buy an Elton John rap album....let alone in hell. lol

Yeah Hip-hop isnt dead but it just appears to because of all these mainstream acts sucking so much. There are still a lot of good indie rappers out there but as you said a lot of people are too lazy too look them up.Still the percentage of good rappers that are seen is a lot less than the 80s,90s,and early 21st century.
Even though though Crank That is meant to be a dance song its missing two necessities of a dance song 1.A good beat consisting of more than 4 notes 2.An orginal dance. The dance he does is essentially just the dance the George W Bush did at that culture festival but the hands are in a different position.
You misunderstood me i wasnt saying Chamillionaire was as good as 2Pac.Chamillonaire isnt even on that level. But Chamillionaire's new album is him rapping about the flaws of society like 2Pac did in some of his more poetic songs.
What? Nearly all the reviews of Jay-Z's new album i read had were extreamely positive.IMO the new album was much better than Jay-Z previous attempt to get out of retirment.
Yeah from what i've heard of G-Unit's latest mixtape series it is really good and definately way better than 50's latest album,Curtis.
lol.But you'd be surprised Elton John actually has quite a history with hip-hop.He's done some collabs with Eminem that have all turned out great. And that song "2 Man Show" he did with Timbaland was one of the better songs on that album. You got to keep an open mind.

Hahaha, wow. Funny guy!
Anyways, hip-hop artists take themselves too fucking seriously. If it's not all about sex and money (Which it usually is), it's too overly political, which is just as annoying. Can't people just be fun without being sexist or completely ridiculous?

That's a good point. I wonder that myself sometimes around competitions and such. The problem I find with your perception however, is that the Hip Hop culture suffers the brunt of historic and statistic issues unresolved. That's why it can seem like "everything is always so serious" through the music. The Hip Hop culture, and specifically now, Black and Latino men are still the main demographic filling up jails. The Hip Hop culture is still litterally robbing and killing everything up.
No other culture suffered drug epidemics like the Hip Hop culture has...I say the "Hip Hop Culture" because it goes beyond color when it comes to how serious the issues actually are, and those people who listen to Hip Hop. No other culture suffers self destruction more than the Hip Hop culture. Let alone historical ridiculed for simply being the genre that stands out as the most different.
Hip Hop most certainly will not grab a guitar and start singing about how great America is, because America was never designed to except it. Also, as a derivative of Rhythm & Blues and Rock n Roll, Hip Hop is most likely to speak to those who are enduring great triumph(sex and money//happy that you made it out of that horrid place and moved on), or great hardship(drugs, violence, and politics//censorship has some of it's biggest controversy's surrounding Hip Hop).
An answer to your question whether people can just have fun is too complex. So, without complicating the answer too much, I'd say No, most of the knuckleheads being sexist can't only have fun. New money is destructive long before it is constructive. And the learning curve about what to do with a new found life is horrendous after so much suppression is finally relieved.
Lol, for instance, when I moved out the hood at age 22...I was eventually able to afford internet service. But look at what site I ended up on. hahaha. Just joking...
