wow, i never realized that there were REAL words in this song. before this, i could only identify:
hoe, super, man, crank, you, bitch, me... and i think there were like two more words but...
seriously i hate this song, but i love watching travis barker play this song to his drumset and making people watch me do the same thing poorly... this song was played at my homecoming dance TWICE (and there's a cute little picture of me with the guy i'm in love with on my profile for some proof that i was at a homecoming dance ha,ha...)
but still i hate this song, but once you're like listening to it, you just can't stop... not to mention that the people in my physics class are trying to get our teacher to dance to this song by listening to the song on their cell phones... funny how this is happening in my school... i hate my school.... FUCK EM!

Hm...
Apparently, the idiots that are my age love that song just because of the dance and well... I don't know.
I can do the dance and all, but I think the song is average. The dance is fairly easy.
But the only reason it got famous is because of MTV promotion, and that's also how Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco got famous.
Many other songs and such could've still gotten famous without MTV promotion, but Soulja wasn't one of them.

Hmm well at first the song was kinda catchy and whatever, didnt mind it much, but now that its been non stop playing everywhere I really just wished this song died down already. I cant believe its still hanging around the top of the charts. I dont see this guy making another hit song again. So he could enjoy his bit of fame.
He has negative originality. C'mon his second single is "Soulja Girl", and it just repeats stuff from other songs in his chorus like "Walk It Out", then he throws in some recycled stuff from his Crank That song. His songs just have no content at all, just a bunch of repetition with a few words here and there that he randomly pulled from a hat.

I find that song very annoying and it seems other songs by the artist are the same thing slightly altered. Here's something ironic: The guy is 17., around the same age of these kids looking like they are doing a rejected NSync Choreography.

To think, artists like 2 pac are lying in a grave somewhere while this hack is pushing garbage like he works for city sanitation. Seriously, this song has ZERO artistic merrit. Hell, it's not even funny watching drunk people do the dance, it's just sad to see how low standards are the norm these days.
and a correction to an earlier post.....OLD hip hop is life.

Thankfully, unlike some people who tend to complain about it, I stay away from bullshit music. Don't turn on the pop radio station, don't go near MTV, you'll be fine.

It's music, everyone has a style. Not everyone is lyrically inclined.
Some rapper's are poets, story tellers, show off's, dreamers, malicious, crunk, & heartfelt. The list for this goes on.
Soulja is more of the adreline rush, party go'er.
D4L, talk's about girl's shaking their Laffy Taffy.
Yung Joc, is the 7th letter of the alphabet.
Young Dro, like's to be the Rubberband man, and shout's, boing yoing yoing yoing.
We all have our way's of looking at ourselves, and, the way we express that through our music.

Why the fuck is his name Soulja Boy?These lyrics suck ass.His name is brought up so many times."Im bouncing on my toe." What does that mean.Rap sucks.Rappers just talk about how rich and famous they are and how big their rims are and their grills.Referring to women as hoes?So this is basically a rap song:rims,grills,hoes,cash,etc...Same shit over and over....Yay!

All I understand is:
"OOoooOOOOh!"
"YeaeaHhhh"
superman, robocop, now watch me get that OooOOOHHhh....
and something about a super soaker? (they still have them now a days? )
This is a perfect example why hip hop is dead. Songs like this. I just love how every suburban kid (no matter what race) dresses up in those jackets with a big cap to match, baggy ass jeans, big ass sneakers, thinks he's a gangsta. God, when is this ghetto trend going to end?

Allow me to throw a wrench in here and see what the response is.
There is a tendency, or trend in each period of Hip Hop//Rap in general(70's, 80's, 90's ect..). And what with all the sensors and critics out there, what happens in the music industry, is a conscious reply through what we hear from artists. This is reflected in the types of music we hear per period in history.
For instance, there was a time when party music ruled before now (70's-80's). The poets then ruled (80's-90's Hip Hop), there was also a time when it wasn't so much the lyrics of the artist, but it was the colorful styles we were hearing(90's-00's). And Party music is always there, but right now, it's the biggest thing(00's-->).
Anyway, there is usually like a 5yr delay for response from artists to the peoples' demand. Including a "dead period", where there is a lack familiar famous artist. Note, the "dead period" I speak of usually allows for brand new acts. The last big one spawned Emenim, and the likes of 50Cent.
So basically what I'm saying, is that people, during the last "period" of hip hop( namely, all the controversy surrounding Eminem and then 50 Cent), spoke out about what they didn't want to hear from artist. So the music changed to what it is now(aproximately 5 yrs later).
If people complain about one thing....you will simply get something else....but it's a process dependent on the peoples demand and the quality of the music being put out at the time of the complaining.
There are other things that take affect here too. Like the speed of the information age, and all the downloads taking place. As a result, business is done very fast and is booming, deals are being made, and overall, there's alot of money moving around right now. (Everybody has a record label, everybody has their own clothing line, 50Cent just did a deal with Coca Cola and Pontiac....ect.)
So I'll simplify this again by saying: The more you "hate" the music, the more you help change the music. You essentially assimilate yourself because as the most influential genre of music to date, Hip Hop//Rap evolves to cater to the customer. And remains as relevant as the person giving the compliment or the person giving the complaint.
What say you?

So if we hate it more it'll change to a new rap/hip-hop??? Good, I'll have anything over guys who think they are gangstas, wear chains 24/7, and tell us how much money they have.

Good?
What if that meant you'd get a cluster fuck of artist who exploited homosexuals, politics, and the actual real shooters//killers?
