Her face looks kind of manly in her first outfit. I never really cared for SC3 and didn't notice her boobs. Maxi is sometimes blonde.

It's only a radical change from her primary, but she was very blonde in her SCIII alternate outfit. I'm okay with the changes. She probably just dyed her hair, and I'm more than willing to bet there will be a color editor that'll allow you to edit her hair back to black.

I'm less thrilled about her boob job. Now, I love a good breast about as much as the next guy, but the last thing I need is another Dead or Alive fanservice fest.

I mean, c'mon... am I the ONLY one who noticed that every single one of the NEW characters is a chesty female? Where are the MALE characters! Please, please, don't make this a jiggly-girl-a-thon with a Soul Calibur Beach Volleyball spin-off in the works....

It's Setsuka, not a drastic change by any means. I never cared for her in SC3 and I probably won't care for her in this game either. However I do appreciate the fact she gives you the "people's eyebrow" before she kills you apparently.

Other than that I'm fine with it(looks like her alt). I hope they do have another alt, or a color changer thing to make her look like she did last time. I preferred that look to this one by far.

Overall, I'm just happy they put her back in the game. They said the thing is supposed to play closer to SC2 so, I can't wait to see that come to fruit with her. SC3 was so restrictive, but she had potential to become my second favorite SC female character. I already got a big boob fighter in my favorite SC female character, Ivy.

Didn't wanna have to tolerate another one.

Wow. They really did do one heck of a makeover on her. She looks good though. At this point I do miss her black hair but I'm sure I'll get used to the blonde. It doesn't look bad and her breast size really doesn't bother me.

She's not Japanese. Her original concept art for Soul Calibur III had her as a blonde, and her alternate costume had her blonde. Either she was naturally blonde, or she dyed it, but she still is not Japanese, though she was raised in Japan. No one knows her true nationality.

I like this look. Namco has some real talented artists. The colors in Soul Calibur always look spectacular.

It's not just the girls....... I should make a fighting game where all the guys fight in speedos and have enormous bulges.

In addition to that what I'm saying is that I want to see a legitimate female fighter who doesn't have huge boobs and is wearing an outfit that would actually suit her in battle. I'm tired of seeing a video game character designer's wet dream every time a new game comes out.

I think it's really just a game now. Someone at Namco played Dead Or Alive and said "I can beat that!"

It's kind of like how back in the 90s there was this race to create the most violent game possible, now it's a race to create the most absurd female character designs imaginable.

Frankly, I don't care about whether or not they can realistically fight in those costumes. I doubt even a number of the men in the game could fight in what they're wearing. I don't even care about the misogynistic overtones. It's been around since the days of Chun-Li. Virtua Fighter is probably the only fighting game that doesn't go out of it's way to flaunt the sex appeal of it's female fighters and even that's starting to change a bit.

You know what bothers me? That there's no genuine creativity here. It doesn't take an artistic genius to draw a poorly matched mishmash of oddly colored costume pieces, inflate the boobs so they look like they're filled with helium, all the while using the same basic body type and facial structure for every female character, and call it a new and improved design.

I honestly think Hilde is a subtle in-joke as a way of saying "Yeah, which one doesn't belong." Think about it for a second. Look at Ivy. She'd, ironically enough, come off as less sleazy if she were just topless. It seems like the guys at Namco realize this and as they design a new character they have a little "LOL" in their heads.
