another way he wasnt was when he did his fatality in mk2 he took off his human mask and looked green......
well in konquest, everybody appeared as they did in previous games, plus mksm came out after deception.....so they didnt even have the idea for his new costume.
as you see, rain looked the same also....and besides, pl say other than the main story in it, most of konquest is non cannon

Yes I was joking about calling Sektor Cyrax. I'm not color blind, I was just joking. I heard that Reptile became his MKSM look again after his ending in MKA. He found a female Saurian and reverted back to his MKSM form.

Yes, but the ending explains why. I'm pretty sure the costume is just there as a "what if" costume.

I thought this was a pretty good compromise, yeah.
I've never been terribly fond of 'human' Reptile, and love the whole devolution process. It's just a shame it seems to be a little bit all over the place. This kind of negates the regression period between MK/MKII and MK4, because it's still very similar.
Granted, at least in MK4 he was shown (in FMV) to at least be crouching, and hissing a lot.
It would've been nice if Chameleon had more obviously looked something like MKSM Reptile, and been more distinctly tied to the Zaterrans.
That would've been a nice explanation for Reptile's return to this appearance. Of course, the inclusion of Khameleon would've been even better!

Who, that actually has a brain with any knowledge of MK in it, thought Reptile was a human?
Was his fatality not a give away even if you did'nt read his storyline?

I'm fond of the theory that Reptile has the ability to keep a human guise; that is, in his form and all physical respects he will resemble a human. Look like one, walk like one, talk like one... this is something all Zaterrans could do. They could hold a humanoid form at will.
When Reptile began to devolve, he was unable to hold his human guise, and it slowly dissolved. He was at his highest peak of control in the earlier MK's (I think the mask thing is a bit too comical to be considered canon, but the idea is the same), and he was at his worst probably in Deception. In MK:A and MK:SM, we seem him becoming a bit more sane, and slowly regaining his human appearance.
So no, he isn't human. He does have a human "form", in the sense that he can play the part flawlessly.

That ́s the point... Reptile never used a human disguise!!. We know that he was never human.
MKSM= real MKI and MKII appearance (maybe MKIII too)
MKI, MKII, UMK, MKT = pallete swap< was a human only because of memory restrictions with the CPU.

No no genius, there was a human form Reptile.

I'm guessing the Shaolin Monks Reptile would be the MK4 Reptile or right before MK4 Reptile.
But one thing is a fact, thats Reptile was disguise as a human at one point.

No it doesnt count, remember that MK ́s story is retroactive . The last game says the last word. So, Reptile was never human, genius.

Reptile was never human, of course, he was born a reptile and will die a reptile.
But until recently (mk4 and beyond), reptile's appearance was always human. How was his appearance human? he wore a human disguise according to the MK story line. The fact that he was really a reptile was supposed to be hiddne from the other combatants, he would deceive theim into beleiveing they were fighting a green and black wearing human ninja using his human looking ninja disguise. This story explains why reptile in mk1,2,and UMK3 looks like a human ninja.

But at the end of MK1 (MKSM's intro) he didn't wear a human disguise.
So that proves that MKSM's outlit replaces the human disguises from MK1 and MK2 .

Maybe, maybe not. MK:SM isn't entirely canon...if at all.

Ohh , it has a lot of sense using a human disguise when everyone knows that you are a reptile ...
