But the fact that her "masculine" face is inconsistent with all the past renderings of Sonya is a fair criticiscm. Fiction is suppose to suspend belief. How are we suppose to do that if characters are going to change facial structure for no reason?

Kinetic, you're calling people immature because they don't like Sonya's facial features? That sounds immature to me. Everyone here is allowed to voice their opinion of the released renders, whether those critiques be good or bad. I for one like Sonya, but I am not going to sit here and act as if this render of her is perfect because its not. Yes, I am satisfied with her costume, and over all design, but as it has been said more than once, her face is fugly (in the render that is) The in game shot of her looks great though. And its not about getting jollies off. I am female and I am not attracted to Sonya in any way shape of form, doesn't mean I don't want a Sonya that looks her absolute best.

If i Wasn't clear I apologize. Being critical of her appearance and calling her ugly is one thing, which is a fair criticism. But a lot of people here are coming across as misogynist, comments calling her a man and or a butch lesbian, because they don't find her personally attractive are immature. Personally, I agree with you, I think she's damn ugly. But a lot of the people complaining are not complaining in a way that indicates anything other than a "if she's a girl she must be sexy" viewpoint.

You're right, that is a fair criticism. And many of us do long for the Kerri Hoskins days (myself included). And I have no problem with people wanting some consistency. I do have a problem with people complaining that she's not sexy.

That would be like me complaining that Batman wasn't gay enough. Maybe it's my personal opinion that his costume should be pink and he should wear lipstick as an homage to all the jokes about what he and robin do in the batcave. Except that Batman isn't supposed to be gay. Similarly Maybe Sonya isn't supposed to be sexually feminine as some people are suggesting she should be.

It's all about how you complain. Complaining because "she doesn't look her best" or "she's not consistent with previous versions" are one thing. But complaining because Sonya's "not sexy enough" or "looks like a man, and therefore doesn't fit my personal taste" or "doesn't have sexy hair" is too bad...that's like me complaining because Kitana doesn't have red hair, because I think red hair is sexy.

After my initial happiness with finally seeing Sonya’s render, I’ve got to add this bit of my feelings to this subject:

WHY DID THEY MAKE HER FACE LOOK SOO HARD! It should had been softer like her ingame model!! Sure I still think this is the best Sonya ever and I honestly think she looks pretty/sexy/wicked, but they did SCREW UP with the face by making it soo hard. She could had looked BETTER!

I 100% agree. To me, she looks her best in this game, but as far as her render faces go, I still think the Mk3, Mk4 and Mk5 models are her best! But this one has a pretty face, sexy hair and awesome glare. Im overall happy, but dissapointed as well. Oh well.

What is it with them screwing up the render pics? They messed up the human faces in MKSM as well, Liu and Kung Lao also looked horrible there, in MKA they messed up Sareena (well, in game), in MKDA you have a messed up Kitana, Li Mei and in MKD you have Kira (well, in game too)....whats their problem?



I 100% agree as well, except with the part of Sonya looking ugly. I definitely think she looks waay too hard on the face and her features should be more feminine, but that doesnt make her ugly.

And still, that doesnt mean they did justice to her beautiful character. So its not perfect, at all.

Im honestly happy with the overall render, but very dissapointed with their lack of attention and detail on her face. She should look more pretty, more feminine.

I love her outfit and pose. I agree that this has been her best outfit to date.

But...Idk, when I saw her face, it reminded me of that female wrestling chick, Chyna or what ever her name is. The long pony tail like she had in MK 4 and the first movie would have done this render more justice, along with a rounder face. Then again ever since DA, Mk has always given their women manish/ drag queen looking faces.

And the whole thong tan lines and nipples poking out, I don't see why people are getting so worked up over it. Who cares if her nipples are poking out. The girls have their muscle men with their bulges and the guys have their ladies in skimpy out fits and nipples showing. It evens out.

That's a real shame since the costume and design idea is fairly good for Sonya. The beret and bangs for example.
