The Atari situation is very convoluted. Basically because of a deal in the 80's during the mid 90's there were TWO Atari's. Time Warner Interactive had an "Atari Games" brand that made arcade titles like Primal Rage and there was the regular Atari doing things like Jaguar. Both were owned by seperate people. Midway bought Time Warner Interactive's stuff and so they have the rights to things like PR, but they have no connection to the current Atari(Infogrames).

UMK3 was a revision upgrade to MK3, like the normal 2.0 -> 2.1 upgrade, this was 2.1 -> UMK3 upgrade. Same game, same hardware, same core system, just different chips. The transistion was pretty fast too, it was only around 6 months I believe when they made that upgrade.

How sick would it be if it let you pick different revisions of each game?? If you could switch between UMK3 and original MK3, for one thing. But what I would especially mark out for is if you could pick old versions of MKII and do multiple babalities and crap like that. This is seriously wishful thinking here, so I won't get my hopes up. There's always MAME for that sort of thing.

Why then, did XBOX's 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies' refer to KI if they aren't goin to make it?? That was pointless of them..

Don't worry. I think we will see one sometime this year and maybe even a glimspe of KI3 or a KI game at E3.

Also to that other guy that talked about the differetn versions.
I'm atleast hoping they let you pick which MK3 version you want. Since I know for sure I want UMK3 since it has many characters and added stages for fun. But sometimes I like to just play MK3 without having to fight the ninjas with the regulars from MK3 since some seem unmatched when put up against some of the Ninjas.
But if we only get one MK3, then it better be UMK3. Since normal MK3 is now considered the out-dated version or incomplete version by many people.......including me and all my friends.

no way that I'm gonna buy a Dreamcast to play MK4, I want the game in the compilation, if it's not in it I will still buy it but I would be dissapointed.
MK4 was way better then MK3 IMO

I agree with you somewhat. I wouldn't buy a system soley for 1 game. It should be in MAT2 since all the MK games did well in the arcade for them to be considered treasures.
But I liked UMK3 more then MK4. But then again I only played the arcade version of MK4 like 2 or 3 times since I owned the PSX version fo MK4.
So that may have had an impact on my liking to MK4 cause I heard the PSX version was crap and well it did look ugly.

MKTrilogy for the PSX is a lot better in term of quality then MK4 for the PSX. I would like to see UMK3 in the compilation as well but buying MKTrilogy would be a lot similar. However the arcade version of MK4 was really good graphic wise but the PSX version was crap(well the music and the options were very cool, but not the graphics). That's why I would like to see MK4 re-released.
where can we join midway?

Yea, I see the graphics of MK4 in the arcade and the PSX versions looks like crap compared to it.
I just popped in MK4 today and I do want to see MK4 on it.
But still more or so UMK3. While MKT is alot like it I don't like the classic characters or the added ones much, they feel misplaced.
Lets hope for UMK3 and MK4. Might want to try emailing them or something.

Hi,
I'm just curious to know will Mortal Kombat 4 be released in MAT2? MK4 is my favorite MK game along with MK2 and MKDA and the PSX MK4 version while being entertaining was never as good graphic wise as the arcade version. I know that MK4 was release for the Dreamcast, but I would never buy a Dreamcast only for one game.
If MK4 is going to be in MAT2, I would be buying the compilation for sure!
thank you for your time and continue your hard work!
have a nice day!

hey but if a lot of people join me up and write to this e-mail address games@midway.com to ask them to add MK4 I'm pretty sure it could work since we are not asking for the moon, or for something subjective(like adding a certain MK character and not another one).
I'm going to email then and ask about UMK3 and MK4 since I want both of those added.
Everyone join and email Midway and ask for UMK3 and MK4 to be added since it can be done. Most games never even use half of what a disc can hold so I know it can definitly hold alot since all those games except for MK4 are 2-D games.

You mean Primal Rage right, cause Primal Rage 2 never got finished as I understand. It could be an unfinished version which would explain why it doesn't work.
I think it was junked cause the idea of turning into a human was kinda pointless and didn't make any sense. Primal Rage however was a decent game that I liked on the Snes and with us getting the arcade version.......well you can just say I'm excited.

the second primal rage i have primal rage 1 also but has alot of bugs in mame, i could probably get number 2 working if i really wanted but im just too lazy i think all it would take is a new version of mame since primal rage 2 isnt on the list of games that my version of mame is able to run, in a couple of weeks or so ill get the thing working and post some pics up if anyone else wants to do it that would be good cause like i said im real laaazy

OMG, they did all this work only to scrap the game? Those pics remind me another fighting game that I don't remember the name right now, people were morphing in animals, jut not my type of game...
