Teaser Hypes Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Tomorrow
They are coming!

It looks like there's going to be a Mortal Kombat 11 announcement trailer coming tomorrow! An ominous teaser clip has been posted to Twitter updating the schedule with what seems to be an excerpt from a larger scene. According to the post 'they are koming' -- but who are they? Watch:

Blink and you'll miss the 1 second snippet of footage that shows a Tarkatan warrior running through a wooded area in low light. The snap of his head to look back over his shoulder suggests this fearsome creature is running from something -- but who, or what? We'll find out 8:00AM CDT, Thursday morning.

Last month we followed a trail of clues from Bohemian Rhapsody and A Nightmare on Elm Street, to a Serious Six and Kobra. It all seems to be leading to tomorrow's reveal, with leading guesses speculating the hints relate to potential returning fighters such as Rain, or Reptile. Gamesmaster Ed Boon confirmed that some people correctly figured out his clues -- but hasn't given anything away.

Intensive data-mining of Mortal Kombat 11 has fueled popular speculation that Rain, Mileena, and guest character John Rambo may be imminent.

Twitter user @thethiny started everyone talking with speculative evidence found within updated coding. This included references to "Ramb" friendships and gear labelled MIL. The jungle or forest setting of the clip could be consistent with the guerilla tactics of Sylvester Stallone's arrow slinging war veteran, Rambo.

Ed Boon began September by slamming misinformation, but has previously acknowledged the veracity of in-game leaks. Similar data discoveries revealed the cast of the first Kombat Pack a month early, and forecast MK11 Aftermath and its characters more than a year before it was officially announced.

Developers poked fun at the phenomenon of data-mining by including a comical reference to 'Kombat Pack 2' in one of Terminator's win poses. The briefly appearing list of characters appropriately begins with Mileena and Rain.

What do you expect to see tomorrow? Will a flaming arrow streak into the hapless Tarkatan, or could his surroundings reveal familiar terrain such as The Living Forest? Share your guesses in the comments below and be with us on the Mortal Kombat 11 forum for tomorrow's reveal!

Ed Boon Reveals Mortal Kombat 11 Sales And Impending News
Answers coming October 8th!

NetherRealm Studios head Ed Boon has been teasing fans with cryptic clues for what lies ahead in Mortal Kombat 11. We haven't known exactly where the bread crumbs would take us, but we now have an estimated time of arrival for answers: later this week! Read on for details:

Boon updated Twitter followers while also celebrating a staggering 8 million copies of Mortal Kombat 11 sold! The massive figure presumably takes into account digital sales across all available hardware, demonstrating the broad platform that upcoming downloadable content will be made to sell to.

The success really comes as no surprise: MK11 was a dominant seller upon release. WB Interactive Entertainment President Matthew Haddad celebrated a record setting launch at GamesBeat Summit in April, 2019, also telling attendees there would be "years of content". Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expanded the story and playable character roster earlier this year in May.

Boon's latest cryptic teasers began with Bohemian Rhapsody, moved to A Nightmare on Elm Street, then settled on Serious Six and Kobra.

As we learned along the way: some fans figured it out, but we won't have confirmation of who until all is revealed. Most MK Online users are expecting a new pack of DLC characters with 50% choosing Kombat Pack 2 in the current User Poll. 25% chose Rain as a specific frontrunner based on Boon's Klues.

Update 3:15 P.M. EDT: The official Mortal Kombat Twitter account has posted a short teaser giving confirmation that something, likely a trailer, is set to drop Thursday October 8th at 9 A.M. EDT/8 A.M. CDT. More on this story as it develops.

What do you think is coming next? Lay your predictions on the line in the comments below and be on the Mortal Kombat 11 to brag or balk when the answers are finally revealed!

Boon's Klues: MK11's Next Development is Six Degrees of Kobra?
But it ain't Kobra!

Ed Boon is back in deep teaser territory, giving us clues for what's coming next to Mortal Kombat 11. So far we've looked to the sky, faced our nightmares, and got down with the sixness. With his fourth hint we're thinking more deeply about the previous clue and where it might be leading us. Read on:

For the second time Boon has cited the number six. Last time it was seriously number six, this time it's six degrees... of Kobra? The latest Twitter clue includes a render wallpaper of the unloved karate brawler who was infamously introduced in the series' sixth installment: Mortal Kombat: Deception.

Early pre-release details condemned Kobra to forever be maligned as a parody of Street Fighter character Ken Masters. In the 2020 Supreme Champion tournament he received only 19% of votes against Kai. Introduced as a violent martial artist recruited to a new Black Dragon clan, Kobra had all the trappings of a klassic tournament entrant -- but made his second & final appearance in 2006's all-in smash-up Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

Much like Freddy Krueger in his second clue; Ed Boon ruled out a return for Kobra himself with a follow-up tweet. He also deep-sixed inexplicable guesses of MK6 alum Havik, who would only be two degrees from Kobra, given the Cleric of Chaos inspired Kabal to recruit him in the same game.

"Six degrees of separation" describes the phenomenon of being able to connect two people through no more than six acquaintances. If that is what Boon is referring to, there are bound to be a lot of possible outcomes.

Ever since we started looking to the sky we've been thinking about Reptile, and as Deception was one of the few games to omit MK's original secret character, we might suppose there are six degrees between he and Kobra if we trace back to the first game. [That] might be a stretch, but let's face it. Nobody was overly satisfied when they unlocked a Scorpion skin after finding Reptile in The Krypt!

We've also noticed a tenuous link between each clue and Rain, which continues with the fourth hint. Kobra is a karate fighter, and the sixth belt in Shotokan style is often purple. Of course, if Kobra is a black belt, six degrees below him would be green. In Shorin-ryu, used by Kobra in Deception, the sixth belt is brown.

Boon has already confirmed that some fans cracked the code with the first two clues. Are we any closer? Share your latest thoughts and theories in the comments below and check out more hints in the Mortal Kombat 11 forum!
