For those who pre-ordered Premium & Kollector's Editions of Mortal Kombat 1 -- the game is finally about to begin! Online play might not be quite as robust as you're hoping though, especially if friends are on a different console. NetherRealm Studios offered a promising update regarding the state of play. A simple post to X (aka; Twitter) confirmed that Krossplay between consoles will not be available at launch, but the developer assures they are working on implementing the feature for a post-launch hotfix patch.

Krossplay became a key feature of Mortal Kombat 11, following industry trends with support across two generations of hardware! Mortal Kombat 1 is skipping PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this time, but is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
