Ed Boon Drops First Look at Mortal Kombat 11 Sindel
The scream queen returns!

We've only had the briefest glimpse of what looks like Nightwolf, but Ed Boon has already dropped another screenshot for upcoming downloadable content. This time there's not much mystery - just a clear view of Sindel! Take a look:

It looks as if Sindel will come to the Kombat Pack still in her ashened revenant form. The screenshot shows Edenia's Queen emerging dramatically from the darkness, wearing an updated design lush with fabrics and highlighted with her iconic purple palette.

We last saw Sindel in Mortal Kombat X, where she vexed Jax and players as a non-playable character appearing in Story and Online modes. She was a revenant of the Netherrealm, fighting alongside a corrupt version of Kitana as a soldier for Quan Chi and Shinnok.

Sindel has traditionally been presented as a sympathetic pawn caught in Shao Kahn's conquests, but initial information has recast her as a traitor to King Jerrod and the people of Edenia, having married the Emperor to maintain a life of privilege. It remains to be seen if Mortal Kombat 11's customization options will offer the alternative of a living Sindel.

The black background of the recent screenshot teasers remains reminiscent of trailers for Mortal Kombat X's Kombat Pack 1 and Kombat Pack 2. We've only seen guest fighter Spawn in a sketch teaser, and two unnamed guests also announced in the Shang Tsung reveal trailer remain unaccounted for, but could speculate that might change with a reveal trailer in the near future. Boon shared the pic with "7 deadly Sindels" - a catchy tagline, or cryptic timeframe?

Pro Kompetition: SonicFox Wins CEO 2019
SonicFox back on top in MK11!

The Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition made its second stop arriving in Daytona, Florida this weekend for the 2019 CEO Fighting Game Championships. The fur was flying as the Summer action heated up and MK staples stepped up!

Watch: Day 1 | Top 24 to Top 8 | Top 8 Finals

Kombat prodigy SonicFox bounced back from his loss in the Combo Breaker Grand Final, mustering a heroic effort to claim his first crown for the 2019/2020 Season!

Runner-up Dragon piled on the pressure when he forced SonicFox into the losers brackets with a 3-0 Semi Final clean sweep. A f0xy Grampa suffered a similar fate, sent into a sudden death faceoff with SonicFox by the dominant Dragon. A perfect 3-0 secured SonicFox's win out of the Second Chance bracket, but meant he still needed to win the reset if he was going to take the title. Dragon came out strong, dominating air, land, and probably sea in a first round blitz that saw his Cetrion dominate Jacqui Briggs. A switch to Cassie Cage quickly brought a finesse and timing to Fox's game that opened Dragon to punishing combos and a surprise 3-1 defeat. Dragon showed tremendous resolve even as the bracket was reset. Intuitive play and masterful throwing kept SonicFox in control in the end, taking out the 3-1 Grand Final Reset.

SonicFox was gratious in defeat, shaking his opponent's hand and applauding the runner-up as he celebrated his title win. A composed display in stark contrast to one of the most talked about moments of the tournament when Combo Breaker winner Scar was berated by rival Buffalo during heats. Buffalo loomed over his rival after a 2-0 victory, shouting and gesticulating through a fountain of hair as Scar kept his cool. The drama didn't effect Scar in the end, going on to earn a respectable place in the Top 16.

Podium finishes for Dragon and A F0xy Grampa improved on last month's final rank. DizzyTT and Deoxys also showed great consistency with high placements. You can relive all the major action from the tournament by scouring the hours of video embedded in the player above - or just check out the Top 16 below!

The extra 125pts from his win helped Kombat shoot up the ranks, while Dragon scored a handy extra 65pts to bolster his second place status! A 7th place online finish for Biohazard means he's equal on points with DJT, but defaults out of the Top 16 ranks per the 2nd tie breaker clause that prioritizes Premier events. Ed Boon Shares Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf Screenshot Teaser
Axe and ye shall receive!

Teasing characters by their footwear is old hat for Ed Boon, but in the latest hint for what's coming to Mortal Kombat 11, we're pretty sure we've got a good idea of what to expect. Nightwolf is coming to downloadable content soon and an eerie new screenshot teaser could be the first hint of a trailer. Check it out:

The new image appears to show DLC sorcerer Shang Tsung standing opposite a new challenger. The mystery warrior brandishes a small hand axe and is outfitted in distinctive foot and leg wear with feathers around the ankle. The red and blue palette suggests Nightwolf, whose trademark weapons have long included mystically charged tomahawks!

Identifying the boot is a lot easier than past cases. Nightwolf was one of three additional Kombat Pack characters announced in the Shang Tsung reveal trailer. The teaser screenshot is the first official glimpse, but we've also seen a sketch icon for the announced fighters.

The image could be an in-fight intro, but its black void seems in keeping with the style used in reveal trailers for Mortal Kombat X's Kombat Pack 1 and Kombat Pack 2. That could suggest we'll see a Nightwolf or dedicated MK11 Kombat Pack trailer soon!

Do you think the mystery fighter is Nightwolf? If so, what do you hope to see from a trailer? Tell us all about it in the comments below and join the discussion on the Mortal Kombat 11 forum!
