We haven't been informed and I don't even think we know the release date for the next mortal kombat.

By now of course, I hope they've pushed it back for the sake of making the game better.

I completely agree I would prefer it to come out next year that way they can make it a worthy addition to next gen consoles.

In the movie it's some sort of snake thing, in the comics it's some sort of ball and chain thing. The games are the canon(true) iteration.

Who was the original Subzero, how did he died and when did the current subzero that we know started to appear in the Mk franchise?

The original Subzero is Noob Saibot, he was killed by Scorpion and was sent to the Netherlands, his soul was changed into a dark and evil entity, His younger brother the Sub zero we know now has been trying to save his brother ,Noob, from staying dark.....
The subzero we know now first appeared in MK2 after the death of his brother the original subzero....

But, to answer your question Noob Saibot is the original Sub-Zero (The Sub-Zero from MK1 and MK Mythologies). He was killed by Scorpion in the tournament in MK1 and went to the Netherealm where he would become Noob Saibot. In the Netherealm, Saibot became a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow, the very thing he had resisted becoming whilst alive. In a darkly ironic twist, Noob Saibot would now pledge allegiance and loyalty to Shinnok. One of his first tasks for his new lord would be to observe and report on the events taking place on Earthrealm and Outworld; to this end, he remained in the shadows during the Outworld tournament in MK2, faithfully monitoring the situation for the fallen Elder God. The current Sub-Zero we know is his younger brother and first appeared in MK2.

Technically is does, since he's undead and we don't see a rope around his body where else will it come from? The inside of his arm is logical and just apart of his powers.

The only difference is in the movies/shows they make it this "snake creature" where as in the game, it's just a spear literally.

A question that has been bugging me a little.

Goro was the Champion of Mortal Kombat before he was defeated by Liu Kang correct?

So why did Liu Kang even have to fight Shang Tsung?

If Liu Kang had beaten Goro but had lost to Shang Tsung, would he Still be the champion and would Earth realm still have be saved despite him probably have gotten killed? Or would it have counted as a loss for Earth realm?

How exactly would that work?

Lui Kang fought Shang Tsung because if he didnt Shang tsung would still hold Earth Realm..(kind of a scarce hold upon the people in Earth realm) Lui kang fought him to lift and undo his evil towards Earth realm...Also After he fought Goro he was the true champion of Mortal kombat... then he fought Shang Tsung to free Earth realm...

The Scorpion/Sub-Zero is over. It's been over for some time.

Scorpion killed the older Sub-Zero in MK1 to avenge his death. In MK2, he thought the younger brother was still the same one...but let him go upon realizing it wasn't. He only attacked the younger Sub-Zero in MK4 because Quan Chi deceived him. Since then, they've had nothing to do with each other.

now i know noob was created by sub zeros dead soul and they called him noob because of his technology and got angry and ran off to the never realm where he teamed up with smoke and created cryrax and sektor blah blah blah...
BUT in armageddon at the end of noob after he defeats blaze and the original sub comes to get his soul back what happens when they fuse?

No, that's not what happened.



We won't know what really happened at the end of Armageddon until the next canon Mortal Kombat comes out.

That ending will probably/hopefully just end up being non-canon.

Will all the character fatalities in MK9 be as nasty as the "Shish Kabob Fatality" in MKA, Johnny's Groin Buster in MKSM and/or Kung Lao's Buzzsaw in MKSM? If Jade is in MK9, I hope they do something very sadistic with her weapon. Like shoving it inside through an opponent's rectum. (I'm not trying to be funny or profane btw. I just want to play as female characters who have sadistic skills.)
