I love that out of Cage, Sonya, Liu, Kung Lao and Jax, Kano is always the one who gets singled-out from haters for not being a ninja/monster/wizard.

Nope. The guys on the Netherkast like it. I like it too, though not as much as his MKD/MK2011 looks. I'm not feeling the hovering/floating though. Maybe I just need time to get used to it and they need to make it a bit smoother. Still, I wish he had at least one stance where he isn't floating.

In order from best to worse:

2. Reptile (love the design but I am really upset that they changed the Force Ball animation where he spreads his arms. It is very small thing but it was really characterisitc for him and the new move is just lackluster)

3. Kung Lao

4. Kano (In my opinion best design of Kano ever, they only thing that spoils it a little bit is the shape of the eye. I prefere the round Terminator look)

5. Kitana
6. Quan Chi
7. Scorpion
8. Raiden

9. Ferra/Torr (Master Blaster from Mad Max but not as good as the original in my opinion, but I like him overall)

10. Ermac (they had Superman animations from Injustice so they had to paste them somewhere into MKX, and now Ermac is the victim)

11. D'Vorah

12. Cassie (mixture of Sonya and Johnny but not as good as any of them separately. I think her moveset is super lame espetialy in terms of animation everything looks off in her movement)

13. Kotal Kahn (like the idea for the Aztec character but hate the execution, I realy don't like the design)

I am waiting for some characters from MK4 + Cyrax and Smoke
and than I am happy with the roster.

For me its not about Kano not being a ninja or lacking special/magic powers, he just gives off a vibe that I dislike. For some reason ever since I the first MK movie I have disliked Kano, I didn't really have an opinion on him prior to that film but that movie and his MK3 look just made be dislike him lol

I prefer the MK1-UMK3 characters over all others, but Kano and Stryker have always been my least favorite of the Trilogy era characters.

Best: Kano, Kano and Kano.

Also liking Quan Chi, Sub-Zero and Raiden.

Worst? Ehh...Cassie? Maybe? Every character has been well done in my book.

Kotal Kahn - Looks like an absolute beast in this game, awesome story and design, and overall interesting character. Definitely my favorite of the newbies.

Ermac - I absolutely love the floating stance, I hope Fujin has something similar to this. His variations look great, and his costume looks great as well. Only thing I hope they improve on is his X-Ray, it's kind of bland.

Raiden - He actually looks like a fucking god this time around. Seriously good shit, his X-Ray is amazing. Can't wait to see him in full and I wonder what his second fatality is.

Kano - They improved him in every aspect of his design/gameplay in MKX from what I've seen. He actually looks fucking viable this time around, and his x-ray/fatal are fucking great! I don't know how anyone can say this guy is bland when he's been improved the most out of the MK9 returnees imo.

Kung Lao - God damn, this guy is seriously a fucking beast. That's about all I can say, he's super fun to watch and I'm guessing he's super fun to play, too.

Fair:

Reptile - Definitely an interesting design, i'm going to wait to see his variations full on before judging, though. But everything we've seen so far he looks amazing imo.

Quan Chi - Love his new costume, gameplay is awesome but I dislike the summoning variation. Other than that he looks super menacing and I hope Shinnok looks as beast as this guy does. A huge improvement of his MK9 look.

No design is terrible for me so far, all of them look pretty fucking great in my opinion. These are the ones I like the most, though.

Scorp/Subbie - You can't mes with these guys too much without upsetting fans, remember the mixed reaction from Shredder Subbie? They look fine IMO, even if they are a bit conservative.

Raiden - WAY too repetitive IMO. I want long white haired Raiden already.

Kano - Shirtless w/camouflage pants was overdue. I think a lot of people have been calling for it in MK9. That new face plate will require some getting used to though. Hopefully is alt looks like his MK9 alt/D:A primary because that's always been my favorite looks for him. Also, beard tail totally works.

Quan Chi - Too tacky. Looks like a really bad pro-wrestler outfit.

Ferra/Torr - call me narrow-minded but I just don't like big brute like characters as mains. They're an eyesore passed of as novelty. I could never get passed Sheeva in MK3 as being a bit of a joke. And the whole tandem thing has already been done with Noob/Smoke

Cassie - Cage/Sonya/Stryker all rolled into one, sign me up! I LOVE that she looks like her mom but has her dad's personality, that was definitely the right way to go about it. But with Cage and Sonya being heavily rumored to be on the roster, I find her inclusion a bit pointless and this is coming from a huge Cage/Sonya fan.

Kotal - I'm not as big a fan as many others when it comes to him, but I definitely get the love. Feels new, intimidating and thematic.

D'vorah - I'll admit I'm not all that interested in her, but I do think a human/bug hybrid works well in the MK universe.

Reptile - Too similar to MK9 as many have been lamenting. For a character that they've been experimenting like crazy on his design over the years, this is really an odd, safe move. My favorite look for him was the bandaged face in Armageddon but that seems to be Ermac's property now.

Kitana - It's growing on me more and more. I was still hoping for unmasked lavishing beauty warrior, oh well.

Ermac - They took my personal favorite outfit for him (MK9) and then butchered it IMO. The face, the 2 inch thick hood....it's just all sorts of wrong. I don't mind the floating though.

You are not alone! It is his best one to date so far. Can't wait to see his other one.

I've Loved every character so far. I might be the Least excited about Cassie, if i had to pick one. But I definitely can't judge a "worst character" yet.

However, I will say that the worst variation so far is QuanChi's "Summoner" variation. That giant bat is str8 up Lame

Ermac - fuck the ninja getup.

Kotal Kahn - probably the newcomer and boss after MKDA that manages to make me give a shit. Okay, Onaga was cool, but still. Like his overall concept, because I could not think that mesoamerican stuff could look okay. My mistake.

Torr- solid design. Ferra - kinda liking it. There is nothing exceptional about them, they are textbook okay.

Scorpion - wow, actually looks like a reasonable costume. Thankfully no trilogy era costume this time. MK9 overdesigned things.

I am thankful that they are not rehashing the MK1-4 costumes. Their updates previously were fine for most part but there is nothing good about the spandex MK3 era. I like the direction of the post-Herman Sanchez, post MK in general look.

It is time to bury the last games -with respect- where they belong: the ground.

Best:
Kano & Kung Lao - both of them have been evolved and seem so much more badass than before.

Kotal - I agree with what so many others are saying about him. I could defiantly see him becoming a staple character.

Worst:
Kitana - I think they nailed what they were going for, however I'm personally not a fan of the style itself. I can't wait to see her gameplay, though. That might make me change my mind.

Sub-Zero - I believe this is my least favorite Subby design of all and his gameplay seems pretty much like I expected, so kinda lackluster for me. Throwing the ice clone is awesome.

Best: Erm "the perm" mac.
Kung "POW" Lao.

Worst: design wise, Kitana... meh.

Ferra/Torr and Ermac I think have the most potential so far. F/T have slow and fast attacks for a good mix that could throw folks off. Ermac is just Ermac. The hovering seems like a setup to be punished but his other variations still look beasty. The part I don't get though is since he now hovers at all times how does he get sweeped? LOL

1) Kitana: obviously my fav character in the franchise and this game looks like a big addition to her overall appearance and gameplay with what we have seen she looks quick and deadly guess we will find out how much tomorrow!!!

2) D'Vorah: love the entire character never really been done before and comes together great

3) Kotal: Just looks like a badass character and really love his gameplay so far!!

Worst

1) kung lao: his gameplay looks cool but I have never really been a fan of the character so that is the main reason.

2) ferra/Torr: unlike the other new character we don't really know much about them so I might change my mind once i learn more about who they are.

3) Kano: major improvement from previous iterations but again never really like the character so not much else to say.
