It might be fun to play, yeah. But in terms of roster and story it sounds like a massive letdown. I'm not dying to play it anymore. Before I was dying at the thought of having to wait until July or whenever it releases on PS3 but now I feel like I am in no hurry to play it.

I said it before but anyone who thought the comic would have much in common with the game was delusional. The comic is telling different stories to the game and was written afterward.

Some of us think the story the comic is telling is FAR more interesting than what the story mode in the actual game apparently delivers. I was pumped to see the tandem of Reiko and Havik as boss and sub boss.

What we got was disappointing compared to the comic. If you think I was delusional for thinking the comic story was leading up to what we were getting in the game, whatever. That's your opinion. I was expecting one thing and we got something completely different that was 'safe' and so predictable it was a surprise(and not a good one) that it was what they actually gave us.

Seriously, it seems like anyone who says they're not fully excited about the game gets told to stop "bitching."


People can have opinions either way. I don't think it looks like the greatest MK game, but it looks like a fun game and I'm sure they worked hard on it.

WHAT was the fucking point of the comic if it has fuck all to do with the actual story of the game?

The comic got me excited for one thing but the game actually has something totally different that is boring as paste compared to what I was anticipating.

yes the story is missing comic elements and feels like it ends too shotly, BUT the story while playing the actual story mode is good.

If the comic story will remain in the comic, otherwise the game would spoil and ruin that story and no point in people buying the comics.

Fuck Vogel. The guys writing the story at NRS just don't cut it compared to Kittelsen.

Hey, Vogel gave us Deception and tried to give us a bunch of bios for Armageddon. I wouldn't throw him under the bus.

Well, I'm grateful for Deception. Maybe this game delivering such an underwhelming story is not his fault. Whoever at NRS is responsible, my opinion is still that Shawn Kittelsen is doing a far better job telling MK stories than the people who actually make MK.

we all want more characters in it(atleast as cameos if nothing else), but lack of certain people doesnt mean the story is bad

So you thought because certain characters were in the comic they would be in the game? Again that seems to be your own fault. Especially when it's been known for the past two weeks that they weren't in the game...lol

Check your own expectations. The writer of the comic from the very beginning said that it was predominantly unrelated to the games story. It's not their fault because you made assumptions.

Reiko would be cool in the game, but enjoy the game for what it is.

So much has been made of the lackluster story mode that people are forgetting about the rest of the game which is great. Core gameplay is tight and varied, towers are fun, cool krypt to explore, arcade endings are very interesting, the faction war adds to the online experience. There's a whole lot to love.

The problem is that the story mode is presented like a movie when the people on the game don't know how to write a movie. When it was an explorable world with a rich lore in konquest it played to their strengths. The stories will get tighter in time. Ditching the chapter format will help.

And I too was pumped for the potential of Havik And Reiko. But the game's storyline would have been in place long before the comic, we can't claim they ignored it. And I have a feeling the warm reception to the comic will lead to Havik in MK XI.

I think the story is getting ragged on so much because it's really the only problem most people have with the game. You tend to notice people complaining more about what they don't like then what they do like.

The story has been the number one criticized thing so far, and then somewhere down the line, the roster is number two. After that the complaints about everything else have been somewhat minimal.

Maybe you would be happier if NRS go "back to roots" and just cut the story mode all together. Let you focus on the fighting.

I mean it works well for most others fighting games (Hey there Street Fighter...Konnichiwa)

The game is fun, but there are a TON of let downs. I am still unimpressed with the roster, and the variations are meh. Story mode was meh.

I really enjoy the survival tower and performing fatalities again.

Yeah a Living Forest stage would've been cool. I guess the Dead Woods and Jungle work for that though.

Anyone who thought the comic storylines would be related to the game is delusional. Nowhere in the build up were Havik or Reiko even had a single evidence for their inclusion in the game. Nothing NRS released suggested their inclusion. We were told the comic would be telling different stories and we were told that the comic would be a bad way to suss out who is in MKX.

I know it will be additional cost which sucks, but it aint over til it's over. Still hopefully have lots of DLC excitement on the way.

And if they are smart, they will keep the buzz going and not wait months upon months for the excitement to fizzle before announcing new stuff,
