Why should the dead from MK9 stay dead?

The thing is... resurrection just makes the series better. Every time a character is "killed off for real", some method has to be devised to bring them back. Every time a resurrection method is introduced, the world of the series gets just that little bit bigger.

Anyone else have themselves a little chuckle when they rewatch the MK1 flick and Raiden goes "It's not about death...but life" ?
I'm all for bringing the dead back for dramatic reasons, provided it's done well. My favorite example was using Mileena in Trilogy to foreshadow Shinnok.

Every time I think back to that quote or even the original film. This is the first thing I think of.

OP only wants the dead to come back so he's guaranteed Kuai Liang. Move on, people. This is just a veiled Sub Zero thread

It includes others than just him though. If you don't want to discuss any of them, then it is you who should move along. Either that, or try and contribute something useful for once.

Nice perspective there.

Only Sindel and Nightwolf should return because they are vital and can easily be integrated to the story.

After MK3 neither of them are really vital to the story.
What's the point of making them die dramatic deaths in the story mode and then come back and say "Guess what, they're not dead"
Then the next time you see someone die in story mode you'll be like "Well okay that's no big deal, they'll get some band-aids and they'll be fine"
The whole shock factor of the Sindel scene, for instance, would all be nullified if they all just came back in this game after some stupid voodoo junk or retconning shit. I am sick of retcons, if they travel down a road like that they should stick to it.
That being said, that doesn't mean they should stay dead forever. It would just be very soft for them to be back the very next game.

I am just pointing out that Nightwolf is important when and if others need to have their souls cleansed like Shujinko although that does not necessarily have to take place during Mortal Kombat X. Sindel is important if she is needed to sacrifice herself again to recreate the barrier for certain realms or for her to reclaim her throne.
If this actually follows the story of the last MK, then that is plenty reason right there as to why most will stay dead. Yes, there was returns with Deception, but this time altering flow of events can seal the deal with who is dead.... if they actually follow the story line.

I think what people need to remember is that first and foremost Mortal Kombat is a fighting game. Not an RPG. Story is there to enhance our experience but not dictate it. So bringing back dead characters really doesn't bother me because I understand that the characters they bring back contribute something to the gameplay. They can figure out a storyline to justify it afterwords.
Because all these ressurection are getting annoying.
And because Sub-Zero (WHO DIED) probably kills Sektor (WHO SURVIVED) off-screen.
Same with Kitana and Mileena, Kitana died while Mileena didn't, probably Kitana kills Mileena in a flashback or in her BIO.
I hate that.

What about DLC guys? In the best interest of finally moving the story forward?
