Because characters make or break a fighting game. This isn't a narrative driven game it's a fighting game and might I remind you of the last fighting game that went this route? Soul Calibur 5. Yeah worked out great when they cut beloved characters huh?

Did I say anything about cutting popular characters? No, all I've suggested was that dead characters stay dead, in the story. They can still be part of the roster.

But you probably missed that, since I didn't mention it in the thread title but rather the post following it.

Ugh. Don't remind me.

The most annoying thing for me, however, was that there was no explaination whatsoever regarding why they were absent. It was later said that info could be found on the game's website, rather than in the fucking game itself.

Great work, Namco. Or Bandai Namco. Whatever the fuck they call themselves these days.

I can see the complaints if you were to just throw in "dead" characters with no relation to the story at all. They would want them to have a purpose... May I remind you Rain and DLC?

I say just don't mind the deaths. Without them having purpose, it's really not worth it to wonder why the dead can't stay dead.

Had they not have done this, it would be a very different series probably. But that's just me saying.
