Thanks! 8 females is not that much for the main roster. DLC is DLC, which is seperate. Plus, 11 females compared to the rest being male, I think it's fine.

I think the next female character will be jacqui, frost or more likely mileena. I wouldn't mind any of them.

Cassie Cage and DVorah look tough. Bring on more new females!!

I'm hoping Sonya and Jacqui aren't playable. I dunno, Jacqui seems a bit bland at the moment and so far just seems to a counterpart for Cassie. Never been a fan of Sonya and we don't need her now Cassie is there (not feeling the love for her either tbh). Keep them for the comics.

I hope Frost stays in the comics preferably getting killed off, never liked her, waste of a spot IMO.

Jade is a bit irrelevant to the story overall. She's always just been a hanger-on to Kitana/Sindel story wise and I think its time to develop some others. Big DLC potential tho.

Sindel and Sheeva don't have the fan base or story to warrant a return imo. Sindel is a fave of mine so pains to say it and I like Sheeva too but just can't see them having main parts in the plot. Comic/story cameos would be good tho.

I'd love to see Nitara return but it seems she's deconfirmed, sadly. The could've done a lot with her and her people esp with the Netherrealm and Out world wars. They could a been potential allies to the main players in those.

Skarlet was just fan service dlc. I don't see a place for her in the long run.

Khameleon, another character that interests me. She has story potential with or without Reptile and it'd be interesting to see her develop. But the MK team barely acknowledge her and she wasn't even planned for MK. She was a copy and paste last minute job to give some interest in the late Wii version. She won't make it.

Tanya is a possibility but overall I'm not sure what place she has in the new timeline. Originally introduced as a plot device to allow Shinnoks original invasion to begin, how will she fit now. Edenia doesn't seem to have been split from outwolrd by Kitana/Sindel in MK9, so will Tanya be needed. She's also subsequently just became a generic henchman. Sure there's potential but I think they'd end up changing her a lot and I think I'd rather see someone new than have that. She definitely has a cult fan base but is strong enough to get her back? I'd say she has a 50/50 chance at main roster but more of a chance as DLC.

Kira seemed like a cut and paste job in MKD. She has potential with her weapons dealer storyline and black dragon involvement. With a new moveset and the right back story she could work. Possibly relegated to the comics tho with a small part.

Li Mei is definitely a possibility. One of the few MKDA character to get a second spot the MK team obviously like her so that's going for her. It would be interesting to see how the out world civil war affects her village.

Sareena and Ashrah. Both are possibilities with the Netherrealm involvement. Personally I favour Sareena a lot more. She had the "bad girl turn on quan chi and wanna become good" thing going on before Ashrah stole it. Sareena also has ties to some big names, Sub, Noob, Smoke, Shinnok, Quan Chi so she's got a lot of potential and has amassed a decent fanbase. Ashrahs only other main inolvememnt is Nitara who seems to be ruled out and whilst she wasn't negatively received I don't think she has a strong following as others. The MK team have a habit of overlooking Sareena though so I'm not convinced she'll return. But she's definitely my top wish.

Mileena seems more and more likely these past weeks esp with her being a main player against Kotal. It will also be interesting to see how they develop her personality after the car crash that was MK9.

I really can't wait to see how DVorah gets involved more and also Ferra and Kitana fit into the story.

I think that is a decent amount for a game that will have around 30ish characters.

I think we will have like 6-8. If you think about it. The only real reason we only had 7 in MK9 was because those were the only ones in the first 3 games. Tanya almost made it.

Which of the MK women do y'all want to return or see returning story wise?
Looking at past MK Games (MKD & MK9), they had about 7 women in each of their rosters. As of now we have 3 female fighters: Cassie Cage, D'Vorah, and Kitana.
Roughly i would say there are about 4 female slots left,which is left to be divided between vets and new comers.

Li mei could be easily replaced by another female outworlder and nobody would even notice the difference, there's nothing unique about her. If we're going to have another outworld female rep could it be from another race, like D'vorah or Sheeva?

Frost's inspiration and concept was lackbuster from the beginning, I believe that's the reason Boon wants to forget about her. That said, I wouldn't mind her inclusion as long as we have 2 cryomancers max, creating 6 original ice-related variations sounds like a lot of effort.
