Anyway, cyborgs are an excellent addition to the MK lineup. They bring the sort of "Sci-Fi" feel to Mortal Kombat that makes it all the more forboding. However, their story is shared among other characters. The similarity between Noob Saibot and Sektor is that they want to build a robo-army of their own. The similarity between Cyrax and Smoke is that they have a human soul inside them, though one has reached the surface and the other is slowly crawling it's way up.

I think Sektor and Smoke are the most fleshed out characters in Mortal Kombat. Sektor is pissed off and he craves to rule Japan with his Tekunin. Smoke is a shell trying to escape his internal prison and discover what it's like to be human again.

Also, those who say his etheral form instead of cyborg. It's a good idea, but think about it, would they REALLY be able to bring him back as a human? I'm much better off with their primary costume in MKD. (Though I wish Noob had his alternate on.) I'd prefer him to be half-human half-cyborg. Makes it all the more tragic and sympathizing yet nobody would be flaming "OMGWHEREZROBOSMOKEZ?!?!!?!?YOINK!1"

Just my 2 cents.

Well, I'll do you one better, and put in my 2 1/2 cents instead.

The ninjas and cyborgs are the definitive part of MK. Cyborgs have generally been a fan favorite, and they're one of my favorites also.

Like their moves or not, they each have their unique shit going on, which is more than many characters can say. We haven't seen Sektor's revamp yet, but they took a good direction in not making Cyrax and Smoke just different colored cyborgs again......they threw in a bit of originality.

I wasn't a big fan of them bringing back human Smoke, but after seeing a render of him in MK: SM, I think he has a lot of potential. Is my top pick as a return, second to Sektor. If you see my previous post, that concept of Sektor looks bad-ass...........has MASSIVE potential, and I'd like him to make a grand comeback, possibly teaming up with opposing clans to the Lin Kuei, i.e. Red Dragon, Black Dragon, etc.

I wholeheartedly agree. Except that Smoke's alternate robo is a pallette swap of Cyrax.

sad

But, besides that, I think you are right about each robot being their own entity. Now we see that these robots are more than automated cyborgs sent to assasainate Sub-Zero, now we see they one of them is human, and works for the military, one is dominant, and plans to rule a very large empire with his own, and the other is a trapped soul serving Noob Saibot.

I fear though that Smoke won't be in the MK7 Lineup, you know how Boon and crew are with their cyborg rule. Maybe i'm just over exaggeratting.

Thanks for the 2 1/2 cents, Now I can buy myself vodka. wink

I think a three-way Cyborg showdown would be an awesome way to go, personally. It would serve multiple functions. First, it would give the MK team a good way to tone down the number of Cyborgs by killing one of them in the battle. Any one dying could lead to great future story options. If smoke dies, he's finally released from his slavery to noob, and, as may return as a spectre to slay Noob for the wrongs he perpetrated against Smoke. This would deepen the fued between Sub-Zero and Sektor, since Sektor killed his old friend.
If Cyrax died, first off, he would be out of MK, good riddance, etc. Second, it wuold draw the Special Forces' attention to the Tekunin, which would make them an ideal 'main enemy,' in a later game.
If Sektor died, It would open up opportunities for *new* cyborgs to go out to avenge him. Of the three, this is the least useful, so I would go more for one of the others.

Anyway, basically, I think one Cyborg should go, for now. Either Cyrax should just die, or Smoke should be destroyed and return as a more finite spectre than Scorpion; only surviving until he kills Noob Saibot.

I forgot about that palette swap, I never use it. tongue I know that they're cyborgs, and making them human would contradict that, but maybe for a bit of nostalgia, if they could just throw in human Smoke.....you KNOW you'd like that shit, as would most of us. glasses

If they're gonna bring back Cyrax, he doesn't need that subservient manner he's had since UMK3. He's a cyborg, damn it, he can't be owned like that. Throw in a bit of creativity with him, and things'll get off on the right foot. For example, he could be trying to overthrow Jax and take over the command of the Special Forces for himself. Or maybe he teams with Sektor, etc.

Take off the whip and leash from Smoke, he's nobody's bitch. Maybe they could use a bit of Ashrah's ending and Noob-Smoke's to justify him becoming his own warrior...Noob and Ashrah are fighting, and Smoke can't adjust to that realm, because the good in him is becoming dominant once more. Noob kills Ashrah (she was a filler, a rather nice way for her to go) and then they face off against Sub-Zero. However, when Saibot tells Smoke to restrain him, Smoke becomes defiant and him and Sub-Zero team up. Saibot runs away into the shadows, plotting and scheming once again, and Sub-Zero has regained one of his allies, as well as one of his longtime friends.

As for Sektor...........after Smoke leaves, Saibot looks for another ally, and finds one in Sektor hiding out in Japan. Noob's been trying to create a mass army of cyborgs anyway, and Sektor has already gotten a headstart. He asks Sektor to be one of his generals in his growing army, but Sektor says that Saibot has to become a general in HIS army, but they eventually come to terms and become partners themselves, seeking revenge against Smoke and Sub-Zero, as well as the entire Lin Kuei. But anyway, it's just an idea, and I'm trying to throw a bit of continuity with it.

Whoa, what was that about my 2 1/2 cents? (checks pocket) Hey, that was a silver dollar, you bastard! confused
