The boot is pretty generic by itself, could fit any character with a mercenary or military theme, imho. And if it's Jax's it will come into conflict with MK9's ending. I mean, if just one character comes back from the dead, what is stopping the rest from coming back? it would cause a lot of backslash.

I just hope Tanya has good boots in MKX. And an epic kostume.

It would be a good idea to introduce a new character at this point, but, they might just stick to unveiling returnees first.

However, if it was to be Jax, he will be more cybernetic because he hacked into Kano's cybernetics. That's if they use his ending, which I think it should be canon.
Jax found his way somehow to Kano's doctor while being undead. Jax made a deal and the doctor made him into a prototype of himself (Jax). He has now aligned with the bad side.

Agreed. Kano's especially. Vogel has been trying to make that whole "army made up of one conscious being" story work since Armageddon. Hell, he kinda did it twice in MK9 if you count Raiden's ending.

Personally, I always felt like Jax and Kano's endings in MK9 might be "canon"-ish.
Because both endings are similar to one another.... the fact that they bothered to repeat the whole idea of their ending twice..... it makes me think maybe this will be relelvant in the future? Which is MKX?

AND, it's just a good story anyway, I think. I like the idea of Kano using extreme technology to ruin the whole planet and Jax trying to stop that disaster. Jax could make himself more robotic in the process...
He could have his own "Terminator"-type of eyeball... like a nice neon green kolor lol. I don't know, I can only imagine what they'll do.

While I wouldn't mind seeing the Joker included in MKX, I don't think it'll happen...for any DC character, tbh. Why? Well, the simple answer is due to fatalities. I doubt DC would allow *any* of its characters to be the subject of fatalities (see MKvsDC). It didn't back in 2008. Not sure if anything has changed in 7 years time, but I doubt it.

Out of the remaining character slots (and boots), I think it's highly possible we'll see these pop up and might be featured in the remaining 5 shoes;

The rest I think we'll probably see will be new characters (thats about 5 more new characters). With the concept art of a Red Dragon, if it's not Daegon, I think they'll be represented in some form and I can see him coming back over Taven if either two have a shot. But that's just my two cents.

Sorry but Daegon is on the deadpool list so he isn't going to be in the game or atleast not playable anyway's.

Never said they all necessarily had to be playable. But unless the story mode isn't going to focus on anything Red Dragon related, one of them is more than likely going to rep in this game and I don't exactly see Mavado coming back, and we all know about Hsu Hao. So unless it's a new character...

Another one that I hope to be for boot #3 is Kai. Can't leave him out of the equation.
