I for one would welcome that idea. But i just don;t see it happening. I believe he could have prominent role but to be the Big Bad, unfortunately i dont see it

Reiko shouldnt be the big bad guy because he doesnt have anything special about him that is overpowered. ShangTsung powers up per soul he steals, quan chi has the amulet, shao kahn is shao kahn, goro four arms, motaro 4 legs, shinnok is a elder god, so...what does reiko have? Mileena :D

lol +1 , some serious dreaming going on thinking reiko will be the main boss, the comic is just paying homage to some lesser thowback characters (frost,reiko etc) he won't even be in the game probably will be lunch for mileena in the comic. They are building up some of these lesser characters as foils to put over the new characters when the likes of kotal and Cassie defeat them.

Reiko playing such a strong role in the comics i really hope he is in the game

I would expect to see Reiko in story mode, MAYBE even playable. No way he is the boss. I think the comic is doing amazing things with his character, but not thaaat amazing.

My prediction is that Shao Kahn forced Rieko put on his Armor and fight Raiden in his place while he recovered from his wounds.

Reiko as the big bad of MKX? Fuck no. Reiko having a prominent role in MKX? Fuck yes.

I think its silly that so many of you don't think Reiko has a chance of being in MKX. Himmerick has already confirmed that at least 3 MK4 characters would be returning. We already know Quan Chi is confirmed. Out of the remaining 6 characters who debuted in MK4, Shinnok and Reiko are the only ones who have been explicitly mentioned in storylines and in the comic so far. I think the chances of Reiko being in are high when you consider how they have presented him in the comic so far. He is literally toying with Kotal Kahn, who we already know will lose his position as the ruler of outworld at some point in the storyline of the game. It has also been established that Reiko is the brains behind Mileena's plans, which are likely the ones that lead to the downfall of Kotal Kahn. So with all that in consideration, I don't see Reiko dying in the comic. If anyone is going down, its Goro.

Now, whether Reiko will be the big bad is another question altogether. As much as I would like for it to be him, I don't see him as a character with the stature to be the big bad. Also his previous ties to Shinnok make me think he would have some kind of an allegiance to him still. So perhaps he could become the new ruler of outworld, but ultimately Shinnok would still be the big bad. I have a hard time seeing who outside of those two it could be.

Another interesting connection is the fact that Red Dragon have some kind of connection to Shinnok and Reiko. I think this means that the Black Dragon might be on the side of Kotal Kahn, which puts Kano at odds with Quan Chi. Really interesting that they even the bad guys have different factions. Its part of what makes MK's storylines so interesting IMO.

i feel the same way. like i said earlier, in the comic in raidens visions, it shows Kano stabbing the hand of a Shokan, the people that Kotal is at war with. Erron Black is seen in Cassies phone with Tasia and Jarek, black dragon members. i'm guessing Mileena and Kotal are after the komidogu knives and Kotal sent Kano to steal it. also i remember a fight intro of Kotal vs Kano, where Kano says "nothing personal, just business" couldn't hear the rest but judging by that line it seems they were allies.

it will be Mileenas empire + Red Dragon vs Kotals empire + Black Dragon. calling it now.

I certainly think Reiko deserves a shot at being a sub boss, but not the big bad.

I will give you, he has proven his colors in the comics. It's just the general concept of having a Shao Kahn impostor be the big bad right after the acceptance that Shao Kahn is dead. It seems rather unimaginative.

It's just that whenever someone appears in the comic, ya'll immediatly jump to conclusions and assume the character is in the game. It's annoying. Yes, Himmerick said at least TWO MK4 characters would be playable, and we already have Quan Chi, and Reiko currently has a semi important role in the comic, but that doesn't mean shit. Ya'll are already assuming he must be the other MK4 character that will be playable, but so did the Fujin fans when he made an appearance, and so will the Tanya fans when Kitana, Edenia and Taya make their debut in the comic.

Yes, Shinnok and Reiko have explicitly been mentioned in the comic, but so has Fujin, and Kitana/Edenia haven't been seen yet to think Tanya has a place in the story or not.

Reiko, Shinnok, havik, and fujin are the only post-Trilogy characters im hoping makes the cut.
