Who else thinks Reiko will be the big bad guy in MKX?

i remember an interview with Ed Boon a while ago saying that the 'big bad' will be a returning character that might surprise us. and after seeing the preview of the next comic i'm more convinced. he's clearly the mastermind behind Mileenas plans. he's just waiting for the right time to strike and overthrow her. it makes sense he's always wanted the throne and now that shao khan is out of the way and he's successfully seduced Mileena, i don't think anyone can stop him. he even has Kotal desperately asking the special forces for help.

*SPOILERS*

Reiko is going to kill Kotal's father, retrieve Shao Kahn's War Hammer from him, and basically just become Shao Kahn.

was thinking the same. thats gonna be the "fallen ally" Kotal loses. but i think it will be Goro that kills his father.

Yup, much more likely.

I don't think Reiko will be big bad. I hope he's in but it's looking much more like he's playing the shit out of Mileena for now, but in a stroke of Game of Thrones style drama he'll get betrayed in the last minute before he gets what he wants and dies.

No new costume also isn't a good sign. sad

No, I do not think he will be the boss as I do not think he will be in this game. My opinion is the same as the one Gillbob316 wrote expertly in another thread.

idk man i got a strong feeling. but we'll see. i definitely think hes in the game though. i think hes gonna play a major role in the story.

also, does anyone else have a feeling that Kotal Kahn is aligning himelf with the BLACK dragon in response to Mileena with the red dragon? why was erron black at the portal with Cassie? did Kotal send him and the black dragon to kidnap her and use her as ransom so that sonya can assist him in the outworld war?

I thought so too but maybe Erron Black is doing his own thing. Maybe he's working with BD and Kotal doesn't know.

OR

Maybe Kotal somehow knew about the abduction attempt and sent him to save Cassie from BD, gaining Sonya's (And EarthRealm's) favor.

Much more likely given Kotal is trying to get as many allies as possible, it seems.

I think Reiko is going to be one of the bad guys but not the main one and the main bad guy I believe is Argus.

As we've seen from the comic preview it seems that Reiko may be using Mileens for his own gain. I see him as a charcter that could make the roster and quite possibly be the end-boss or sub-boss.

What do you guys think?

He's probably one of the conspirators of this game. Like Quan Chi and Shang Tsung were in MK9. So I can see him being a sub-boss.

My thoughts on his correlation with MIleena: I really doubt he'll kill Mileena, though. And if he does, Mileena will probably make it in the game.

probably so. come to think of it remember that preview in like the second issue when Raiden says "It has begun!" and it shows a lil pic of KANO stabbing the hand of a Shokan? what would his beef be with a Shokan? i think he's riding with Kotal, assisting him in the Outworld war. theres supposed to be a Shokan uprise, right? this comic really keeps you wondering..

I was just thinking that perhaps Reiko has his MKA outfit because of the possibility of him being the big bad with a new look in MKX that is very Shao Kahn-esque. Perhaps just a design in general that yells "Big Bad" and they don't want to give that away in the comics. However, it still is just a toss up at this point right now. I too am with others on wanting Mileena to be cunning, like how she was in Deception.

Reiko honeydicking Mileena, who would have guessed? But I think Mileena will catch wind of his intentions and kill him.

So will he be in the game? Maybe. As long as Fujin makes it I don't really give a shit either way.

I's a given that he is.

I mean, Reiko is the most beloved and universally recognizable character of the entire franchise, always has been. The fact that he wasn't in the initial trailer of MKX, let alone on the cover, means by default Boon has selected him (his favorite character BTW) to play the most important role in the game as the highest honor he could think of.

This is something I have been hoping would happen to him for a while. I have been hoping that Reiko would one day grow a sack and finally make some moves to become the next Shao Kahn and now that Kotal's pops has Shao's hammer and is supposed to be going to kill Reiko. Now I don't know about being the big bad, but I can certainly see him getting his hands on that hammer and take his Shao cosplay to the next level.

Everyone is in it for their own interests. And no, it was stated Reiko was the one doing the seducing to gain power, Mileena doesn't benefit as much as Reiko from all this, he's already her lackey.

Shao kahn will be the returning boss nobody expects. But it's not shao kahn, it was reiko all along. Gotta buy the comics yo, stay on top of this shit. I'm kidding. I think he will get khans hammer though. Wearing some shoulder pads and a bone helmet/beltbuckle doesn't make you one of the most powerful sorcerers around. He's just a smart general, he's not the big bad.

I don't know if he's the big bad, but I think in about 4 hours we'll know if he either dies or will be playable.(next comic comes out then)

He's talked up too much by Kotal to not be in the game if he stays alive.
