I'm pretty sure there's a Mario spinoff where you play as Peach.

Geez, I've been a member since MKDA was just a pic of Scorpion and Jax looking at each other and I have less than 2,000 visits. I should really log in more...

There's Tomb Raider, Wet, Heavenly Sword, Bayonetta, and Mirror's Edge just to name a few (since female heroines are hard to come by in the gaming world).
Any games that are prissy or cartoonish only serve as an insult, not every female gamer is a little girl that loves stickers and unicorns. Hell, the women on this site are a testament to that. Can't get much farther from unicorns and Barbie dolls than decapitations, dragons and disembowelment (MK).

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with it (even LOL'd on the inside when I read your posts, I must say). The games you mentioned just reminded me of how absurd it is to create a game for girls to play by slathering it in pink paint and tying ribbons to it and I thought I'd vent a little, my good chum.

Anywho, this topic's gotten totally sidetracked.
Anyone else have interesting "secret" outfit ideas?

Personally, I hate the idea of one alt outfit. I always have. Why is it that you can edit the crap out of outfits in Tekken, Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter and you get about 3 to 7 alt outfits in Dead or Alive, yet MK has one original outfit and one alt outfit?

I don't say that to question the validity of this thread. Far from it. I just think that there should be more outfits for each character. Sure, you HAVE to have the original, sort of "signature" outfit for each character. But after that, they should have at least 4 or 5 outfits that fit their personality and background, plus at least 5 more slots for players to create costumes for each character.

That's where the guys and the ladies can go to create the outfit that they want the characters to wear.

Not to jump in to the whole more clothes / less clothes, who games are geared for conversation, but personally? My definition of sexy has grown up a lot since I first started playing MK. Sure, way back when, I thought Kitana's outfit was hot. Now, not so much.

I don't need to see men in karate gis fighting women that basically look like they're in lingerie. It kinda makes things look a little silly. Mileena's alt outfit in MKD falls in to that category.

Of course, then again, they're polygons, so I don't really need my polygons to look sexy at all, but if we're talking about depictions of men and women in an aesthetically pleasing way, you can make both of them sexy without having to give the guys big packages or the women comically large Taki from SC4 boobs. You show a little skin here and there, you tease it, you make the characters move a certain way, maybe in their style, maybe in their winning pose or the way they talk, facial expressions etc.

Anyways, I'm just throwing that out there.

As for my ideas on outfits, I'll come back with them later.

and C) that wouldn't be the case if they'd design the series with a female audience in mind. The series has female fans... so why not attract more? Getting more customers is not stupid... quite the contrary. Shows what you know, I guess.

Or, they could have more females on the team rather than all guys.

And your statement is also true as well.
