Reminds me of Soul Calibur. Exposed buttocks and heaving, cumbersome breasts aren't very practical in a fight. On a related note, I've never seen anyone get whooped so bad that they end up in their skivvies (as seen in SCIV).

I'd personally like to see "secret" outfits consist of exaggerated versions of the characters. For example, how Smoke appeared to be literally smoke in Deception. Somehow make Baraka look more vicious, frothing at the mouth and such. Sonya and Jax appear more militant. Give Reptile an outfit similar to his DA outfit but no where near as cartoonish.

Just give the artists an additional outfit slot to explore their creativity to the highest degree, without select fans complaining about their favorite characters getting overhauled into something outlandish.

And make it a bit difficult to unlock these costumes, so after busting your ass to unlock them you have some sense of satisfaction in seeing these incredibly imaginative renditions.

I'm assuming you are a girl, because if you're a guy, that shit is just down right gay. I would NEVER play a Mortal Kombat game with that kind of costumes.

Frankly, I'm tired of MK girls being dressed the way they are. For some, like Mileena, it makes sense. For others, like Sindel and Kitana, it does not. And for most, it does not.

It's just so boring and annoying. So many females have the potential to look cool and badass, but instead they look laughable or stupid. Some still manage to pull off a tough, cool look, but either way, it's just old already.

I wouldn't mind one or two dressed like airheads, but I mean... practically all of them? If it wasn't for Sonya, it would be all of them. Like I said, some still look cool, but I mean, come on.

But in response to what you said about having one costume, I personally wouldn't be TOO down about it (heck, that's how it was before the jump to 3D anyway) but I'm sure there would be a slew of "OMG! (Insert favorite character here) doesn't have (insert something they were hoping for here)!!! Why, Boon, WHY?!!" threads littering the board. At least with two distinct outfits the chances of "whiners" piping down will be higher.

I agree with the whole: Revealing costumes aren't good for any series. I did hate what they did to Ivy in SCIV.

But, I'll have a go at this. I do believe in the whole 2nd costume should look nothing like the primary. So the primary will be more like their original costume from their debut.

Sonya: Blood red camo trousers and jacket, short if not bald hair cut, face paint.

Kitana: Black catsuit, masked, some blue trim.

Shao Kahn: something involving a redesign of this helm: http://armstreet.com/image/236/big_img_2009011460733.jpg Imagine what Shao Kahn would wear if he was going to take over the Arctic. So lots of dead animal fur and he doesn't look as much of a S+M lover.

Mileena: Unveiled. Something similar to what Baraka would wear. She looks like a serious female samurai/warrior rather than Kitana's cock thirsty sister. With a trap.

Scorpion: Unmasked. Looking more like Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.

Sub Zero: Unmasked, possibly topless, not sure really. Gorgeously tailored Ice Dragon style trousers though.

Tanya: A purple and yellow geisha outfit. Its more based on what should would have worn in Edenia as an ambassador.

Onaga: A redesign of his body and face to make him look more of an oriental dragon. Also to make him look more like the MK Dragon in the logo!

Sheeva: tribal based. Animal bones strapped to arms and legs, a centaur skull on her shoulder.

Sindel: Either a "She-Kahn" style outfit or long tattered robes, covering her appearance.

Cant think of anymore that wouldn't be obvious: Shang's robes/ Quan's MKDA style outfit etc.

Maybe they'll bring back the Kreate-a-Kombatant mode and extend it to encompass existing characters (which would rule). That way half-naked males would be a possibility. I do feel for you women, there's definitely a double-standard. Virtually EVERY game is geared toward a male audience without any consideration for female gamers.
