What are the chances of Reiko returning?

I love Reiko, and I hope he can somehow make an appearance. He was my favorite in MKA. And with Kitana most likely not returning, I am looking forward to using Reiko as my main.

His chances are as big as any of the post-MK3 characters who hasn't been confirmed NOT to return yet, such as Hsu Hao and Drahmin.
In MK9 and probably at the start of MKX, Reiko is part of the Brotherhood of the Shadow, working for Quan Chi and Shinnok. Reiko didn't become Shao Kahn's general before after Shinnok's defeat in MK4, which would be the next step in the story and most likely what MKX will start with.
So I'd say his chances are pretty big.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognizes this to further Reiko's chance to be in MKX. ^^

I think it's possible, but I'm not sure really, I mean if I had to guess I would say maybe but I somehow don't think he will although the truth is, I don't really know.

Well we only know of four. Tanya, Reiko, Sareena, and Noob all seem to be high ranking. Every MK character apart of any organization is high ranking now that I think about it.jdnice11 Wrote:

He has one of the best chances of post MK3's characters of returning. Just as Shinnok, and Quan Chi, he's right there with them in returning.

I don't think he will make it.
But I would like to see him.

I don't see why, i've been rooting for Reiko for awhile. He's one of the only post MK3 character's i'm fully expecting, everyone else would be a nice surprise.
With recent news from Boon that we'd see multiple characters be in control of Outworld I believe it improves his chances only because he would be a perfect returning character to rule Outworld for a period.
Besides he was Shinnok's general during his first battle against the elder gods, the dude is kind of important. He hasn't necessarily been shown too much in the franchise so far, but being the leading general to two main bad guys (Shinnok & Kahn) and also plenty of character ties(Brotherhood of Shadow, Netherrealm) gives him a well placed hierarchy within the evil side.
Shinnok doesn't have many allies we know of yet(probably a couple new characters will be in his allegiance) so why not bring back one of his most important ones? Also in Armageddon we found out that Reiko detests Quan Chi so that'd be interesting to see why even when they both will serve Shinnok.

That's what I'm talking about!
The people who say he's got no chance of returning because Shao Kahn isn't around anymore, then it's like they "forget" Reiko's original role in MK which didn't have anything to do with Shao Kahn.
Here's a piece of trivia for you all:
Did you know that when Mortal Kombat 4 was first released, Reiko's ending was just him going into a portal. There was no him coming out again and sitting on a throne and there were no Shao Kahn helmet placed on his head. The MK team added that part in a later build, because people complained about his ending being too short and mysterious. Funny enough, his new ending raised alot of more questions than answering anything. XD

I'd say 30%. Before the information about MKX came out I would say that this game would focus on the MK4 story and thus Reiko would be a shoe in. Now I feel that the only characters from MK4 that will make it are Quan Chi, Shinnok, Tanya and Fujin. And they will make it over Sonya and Johnny. I still don't believe Boon trying to throw us off.
If he isn't in the game he better have a damn good cameo in the Shinnok part of the story line. I really hope he makes it though, I absolutely loved his design in MKA and thought he was cool in MK4. He's got potential. But yeah I'd say he has a chance after Shinnok, Quan, and Tanya.
Man I really hope MKX gives MK4 some justice and doesn't get too carried away with new characters and new story direction.

I wouldn't go that far. I'd say Shinnok and Quan are pretty much locks, with Fujin and Tanya probable, then Reiko a 50/50. I'd sure like him to be included though.

I'd say his chances are decent.
Ed Boon says that Kotal Lahn ruled Outworld at SOME point, but not necessarily at the 25 year mark. Who knows who could've evicted him?

Chances are good I'd say just because he's working with Shinnok and Quan Chi.
