They already do taunts during round victories. Maybe at best if everyone had 4 and a button on the D-pad would correspond with a different taunt then that'd be cool.

But leaving them in round victories is perfectly fine.

I was thinking that if taunts are in mid-match, mercy should be too. Ya know, perform X amount of taunts so that you can perform Mercy at the end so You may pull off... something. Would be better than not using kick or not blocking to access stuff. Kool?

Here's another video that indicates taunts may be in the game;

Check Kotal Kahn (1:13, looses health) and Sub-Zero 1:15

That's not a taunt, it is part of his stance.

I don't know about that. Haven't seen Sub-Zero do that in any of the other videos, maybe I have missed it. Though, you may be right since he cancels it immediately by moving

It's become commonplace for fighting game characters to do a little animation if they stand still long enough. And I think that's what we see with Subz in that video.

Sub's is definitely an idle animation. Cassie's is obviously not. It was so deliberate and lord knows it's not an airstrike animation. She paints targets when she calls the strikes, not salute the opponent/aircraft.

The problem is that she is saluting her opponent. How is saluting a taunt or provocation? It's a show of respect, quite the opposite.

Not every taunt is disrespectful. Chun-Li says "sorry" in her original taunt. Ryu says "let's go', which is neutral as fuck.

No need to overanalyze a taunt. It's a show of character more often than an actual taunt. Sean shoots a damn basketball. Wtf is THAT supposed to mean?

Chun Li saying "sorry" isn't actually meant as an apology, its more like "hey, I am kicking your ass, sorry about that". Same with Sean, hitting his opponent with a basketball especially when dizzied? That's no disrespect? I'd be pissed

A taunt needs to fit the character. Ryu wouldn't embarras his enemy under any circumstance, hence his neutral taunt. Cassie Cage on the other hand is clearly full of herself and has the arrogance of her father. It would have made more sense to have her bubble gum move at the select screen as her taunt cause again, saluting makes no sense even if she is in the military

True enough. Still, she started doing something else. She put her hand by her rib for some reason after the salute. Maybe we haven't gotten the gist of it yet. Watch again if you missed it.

Whatever she did in that video, her whole meter gauge filled up along with a chime.

I'm sure it's like how it was each time they show off MK9, with a button press, the players gauge filled up instantly, but what we saw here is a taunt along with it this time.

So she either has a Taunt, or a Quan-Chi like boost meter gauge that will get hella nerfed in the final build.

Pick one.

NNOOOOOOOOO!! I use the d-pad for movement precision that's more accurate than the stick. This is not Smash bros.
