I theorize that during story mode, revenent Kitana will be defeated by one of the four new heroes, taken back to Earth from the Netherealm and returned to her former living self by (probably by Raiden). Hopefully she'll have her own chapter in story mode as well.

That fight scene was at the red covered shaolin temple after the explosion, which is where I suspect the final boss to be and Kitana/Sindel are clearly the sub bosses.

I'm still open to the possibility that it's Jade fighting with Sindel and not Kitana.

Anyway, it's quite possible that the live Kitana we've seen isn't even part of the story, rather just a non-canon alt a la Human Smoke/Classic Sub-Zero, only not taking extra spots.

But I like the idea of her getting freed later in the story mode, as it allows her death to have some impact.

like somebody said earlier, I think it takes place at the beginning or its a flashback. obviously she died in the last game and was still one of quan chis zombies at the time of that scene. pretty sure she somehow gets saved and goes back to being human sometime after that. she will be human for the majority of the story.

Kitana is a revenant at the end of MK9 but will be resurrected with a few key others towards the opening of the story. I think that's pretty obvious.

It seems as if Kitana will be serving Quan Chi for about 25 years until the new generation of heroes free her. That's a long time! Quan Chi better watch his back because the Princess will want his head.

I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't freed during the story mode at all, but we'll see. Kung Lao (who is old now) and Jax (who had a daughter trained by Jax himself) were definitely fred at the beggining of the story mode, so i am interested in what happened there. EDIT: Nvm, her mournful variation definitely makes it sound like she's alive at some point.

Yes the Mournful variation gives it away. The same goes for the intro/dialogue between Kitana and Quan Chi.

Just because I said I'm open to the possbility of it being Jade doesn't mean I 100% believe it's her. Try not to take something you read and run with it, okay buddy? :P Also, Sindel's look is different compared to her MK9 look. It's subtle, but it is different. So what you just said? Sense= none.

She can fist fight too though. I don't think anyone knows for certain who it is yet, but Kitana is my bet. Maybe Kitana, Sindel, and Jade are there. Kitana is freed by Cassie and friends, Jade dies, Kitana is mournful (:p), and takes up Jade's weapons to fight whoever is pulling the strings (prob Quan Chi). Maybe we get to play as her for the fight and she's the one to defeat Quan.

I have a feeling that Sindel dies here for good too. And then Kitana can be a badass and do things that she wants to do and not be a tag-along.

What do you mean by Kitana/Sindel are clearly the sub bosses? Do you mean their revenent forms are going to be the sub bosses on the arcade ladder or you just fight them before the final boss in story mode? There's a possibility we don't even fight them in story mode at all and we just watch what happens with them in a cutscenes. Nothing is really clear at this point with Kitana/Sindel, but I think the most plausible outcome points to Kitana being defeated in kombat and freed from her revenent form some how.

Umm what happened to Scorpion's vendetta against Quan Chi and slaying him in battle once the curtain has lifted? Fans are still waiting for that to happen.

As of the comic, he doesn't know about his betrayal. But still left his side. Based on his intro dialogue, unless it's just hypothetical, he'll find out some time later. Hope he does kill him eventually.
