Surprised no one brought this up, John Vogel tweeted this awhile ago.
Very Interesting he brought her, and in good timing

Goddamnit, when will people learn that it's not her? It's NOT her??!?!?!?

I'm with you on this one. I'll never understand those fans.
Yes, of course that peasant girl from an Outworld village is actually a divine entity from a mystical, unknown realm.
*rolls eyes*
It's obviously a new character entirely.

You're shitting me, right?
You would have been better off saying it was Li Mei.

Vogel says this lady doesn't have a name. She's "a mystery woman", like Tyrant-Cenobite referred to her as.
That's him flat-out saying that this is not a known character.
Ergo, anybody saying that she's Li Mei or Delia or Khameleon is off their rocker.
Interesting that he responds to a question about her now, anyway.

I hope this is hinting at something. Everyone had to be like "what the fuck!?" at Jade's ending.
Even if there was nothing canon about Jade's MK9 ending, it should not be disregarded in MKX. Work some clarification into story mode or another characters' ending or something.
I guess I'll post this now instead of never:
I've seen dozens of people argued on why it's Li Mei but clearly they tend to forget crucial reasons why this is not Li Mei.
First off, Li Mei has been known in three games who she is. We know her character. She was an enslaved Outworld villager who fought for her people's freedom who later almost becomes a soldier for the Dragon King's Army. Bo Rai' Cho saves her, fights for the side of good until she screws them over by tapping some dragon dick. Then, she meets her gruesome fate by Hotaru at the bottom of the pyramid.
We know who she is, and I don't want to hear any of this, "But what about retconning her" bullshit. No, you can't just suddenly give her an entirely different character just like that after she's been around for three straight games that shows off who she is and why she's existing in this series.
The woman in this ending has been watching events for centuries. We don't know how old Li Mei is, but from what the ending says, I doubt she's centuries old. We also know the power that Li Mei has, nothing about her screams that she can possess bodies and make people enter dream realms.
Also, the woman has blue skin.
Again, I'm not going to believe that they're going to retcon her entire character so that she can become this creature.
It's also not Delia.
This woman is known as the Lady of Flame, everything about her screams fire. She wears nothing but red, and this woman clearly wears nothing that looks red. She also has two sons, for those who aren't aware. Why would she completely by pass her both sons to tell Kitana's friend about how she's been watching centuries and that Kahn's death was an outcome that must be re-imagined? No, she's not this either.
And it's not Khameleon. Last time we saw her she was trying to tell Reptile that Kahn was responsible for the death of her race. What in the world would she have anything to do with Jade?
I just had to post this.

*whew* what a long post! Mind summing that up for us? You're trying to tell us it is Li Mei, but in disguise, right?

The fact he posted that gives me hope for jade. She did wake in the mortal realm after all...
By what Vogel is saying it sounds like she's not supposed to be figured out, it's just a mystery woman who stays a mystery. Maybe since he brought her up she'll be referenced in MKX, but most likely she will still be unnamed.
Manipulates certain events and changes several things here and there to kind of shape things as she sees fit, maybe we'll call her Retcon lol

I hope this means we will learn more about her in MKX. Perhaps this also means Jade will return, seeing she is connected to her in her ending, I did not expect that though.

Maybe she saves Jade from Quan Chi and Jade becomes the next big hero in the franchise....I mean at this point I feel like anything is possible, you know? Even tho we know nothing about who or what this lady is. It somehow gives me hope that the ermac "fan art" may actually be in the game as well. A very similar type of trolling from NRS.
