I know it's probably asking for too much, but I vote FMV endings. Those were so cool to watch during the MK4 days. Probably won't need them due to the story mode but I still vote FMV anyway.

What about you guys?

FMV endings are WAY better than text endings now.

Yeah definitely. The mk4 cinematics were cool as shit. How awesome would it be if they made the ending's with the same cinematic graphics as the release trailer?

FMV endings because they are far more engrossing then text endings.

Keep the FMV for the Story Mode and let the Arcade endings be text endings.

I didn't really mind text endings due to the story mode but I agree it would be amazing if we got FMV endings with graphics similar to the release trailer. They have the technology to do them and most other fighting games use FMV endings too so why not?

FMV endings, but not if they're going to half-ass them. I'm not asking for them to be oscar-worthy mini-movies, but just for NRS to put some effort in making them.

We are never getting FMV endings. And I for one like it like that. there is more room for exposition with the text/narrated endings then the FMV endings. I mean just look how little we learned from the atrocious MK4 endings in comparison to the other games.

In-game rendered endings. Keeps the cost down from traditional FMV renderings and eliminates the silly animated pictures we've been getting.

It appalls me how people think that FMV and/or in-game rendered movie endings can't have the same narration as the ones MK2011 had.

I'd rather leave full-motion videos for cutscenes in story mode than as endings. Having a narrated pictured ending tells a lot more.

Animated comics endings, like in MK9.
It allows to tell more stuff rather than FMV / engine ending.

Though, i wouldn't mind any variation. As long as its nothing like MKA endings.

Along with the cut-scenes being FMV, I think NRS can do a great job on FMV endings. What ever they have for narrated/picture endings, they can easily implement the same into FMV endings.

It's a YES for me! They would be more interesting.

Why do people assume that FMV endings can ONLY show one scene? That is what ended up happening in MK4/Gold, sure but it doesn't HAVE to be that way. Why couldn't it jump around in location/time some? Also, there be a MIX of FMVs and text for the ending where they give you the text exposition first and then actually SHOW you a particular scene described in it, or the conclusion to whatever is set up within the text

Trying to think outside the box here.

They could have FMV endings with narrations like in the MKD intro. Or they could have a text ending followed by the other one. It's not like FMV endings don't have to tell a story.

Honestly I quite like the moving picture-y things we got for MK9 and Injustice.

I feel like I SHOULD want fully rendered endings but I just kinda don't.

+1.

There's no reason they can't set up a compelling FMV scene with a great backdrop. Just because it failed in the past, doesn't mean it will fail again. All they're really doing with text is telling me how the character acts and reacts. Just show me and let the character speak for him/herself, instead. We're in a personality drought anyways.

I don't mind the MK9 style endings, but I MUCH prefer cinematics. The release trailer? Yeah let's make THAT happen for everyone's ending. How is that not awesome?

Not to mention it's not like they're limited with tech and funds now...

That's a possibility, sure. But think of, let's say, Jade's ending from mk9. Interesting ending, right? Now think of all the subtext and nuances of that ending that would be stripped away if it were just a straight up fmv.

Hell, even if they did integrate them your way, all the text at the beginning of the video, just to set the scene, would've already rendered the fmv nearly useless.

Why leave the FMV for story mode lol thats fucking stupid. MK4 had by far the best endings n if ur.gonna do.story.mode like that then the endings should be too.

Jw, but have you ever participated in theater? If they do this right, and I mean reallyreally do this right, they can create and even further elaborate the subtext and nuances just through an excellently written script and score.

However, if the animations are in any way equal to MK9's, it would completely blow the whole deal.
