I don't know, could be Cassie's Alternate? The face is exactly identical. But yeah, I won't rule out the posibility that it COULD be Sonya.

I have only three quarrels with those saying this is Cassie:


1.) Why is the neck still freakishly long in the first pic. We, the fans, complained to Netherrealm Studios to fix Cassie's neck because it was too long, and they did. They wouldn't keep her alternate costume with a long neck as well.

2.) Why would it be an alternate when everything we've seen with Cassie has always been in her one-piece? Granted that we've been told that characters that we have seen are in their alternates, still. Not to mention, her face wouldn't have been transformed differently in an alternate, and I doubt it's an aging costume.

3.) Children most likely always looks like one parent more so than the other. I've been told I look identical to my mommy. She would have facial features very in common with her mother or father. Seeing how she looks identical to Sonya, it's given that she looks more like her mother than her father.

It's Sonya. She's wearing her Sonya-beret and everything and she has classic resting bitchface. I'd know that bitchface anywhere. She's clearly the leader of the Special Forces faction, which they didn't want us to know yet apparently.

Looks a lot like Cassie, and if that is Sonya than she looks really and I mean REALLY good for a woman in her 50s.

She has a unique face too, from Cassie's. Her brow is completely different, her mouth, her eyes, etc.

Sonya looks funny, almost the same age as Cassie. As for Johnny? I think he'll be in. There must be a good reason why they haven't showed him yet in the comic, maybe he went through a major change.

I still think him transforming into a Seidan would be a good way to introduce Siedo. Perhaps he does turn Powered Up and fights God Liu Kang at the end. That would be an interesting final fight.

This is off-topic, but I'm guessing where a thirds of MK9s story consisted of Mk1, mk2, and mk3...I'm guessing its going to be the same here where the first third of the story consists of the Netherrealm War, the second follows the Outworld Civil War, and the third follows the New Generation of fighters where they fight against God Liu Kang. Just a thought.

I love how everyone immediately starts talking shit about how ugly the females are, but everyone politely forgets to notice how fuggo Liu Kang and Kung Lao were in MK9.

I have not seen anything that points to her wearing anybody's ring be it Johnny,Cassie,Raiden,Kung Lao,Liu Kang, Kotal Kahn hell even Shinnok.

I don't see why people are jumping to that conclusion this fast. a few months ago. the same people who are saying that she is wearing Johnny's ring were saying that Sonya is going to die.

I think Sonya looks beautiful. She looks very realistic, the dramatic lighting really shows off her features.

It looks like a wedding band (which are typically worn by men). Wearing someone's wedding band on a necklace may be a symbol of loss/mourning.

Thats so Sonya!!!! the faces are kinda similar but u can't tell the difference in the lips and the brow and that she looks much older. The outfit might even be her comic book outfit because of the collar being up like it was in the comic just instead of a cap she as a beret.

The face is similar but different enough to be Sonya. Family members usually look alike. She's in. Not confirmed playable yet but she's there. She'll be playable though lol.

Those faces look identical to me. I think both are Cassie but I guess we'll have to wait and see. It's possible we will end up with two identical or very similar looking females on the roster if one is indeed Sonya.
