Jarhead is my second handle on this forum. I first showed up on the scene in 2003 when I came home from Iraq and found out MK:DA was in development. If there has been one constant in the past eleven years, it is to throw hopes and dreams for proper marketing out the window with Boon & Co.

Gamescom is still going strong, though... It doesn't end 'till Sunday. Edit: Just read his tweet. Welp, this convention was a complete and utter letdown in terms of... anything, really.

Maintaining control of information flow as it relates to major event timing.

Using said events to showcase build progress.

No idea why people continue to let Boon jerk them around while getting their hopes impossibly high. It seems to lead to disappointment 98% of the time.

I won't debate whether or not Kano was "leaked" because I don't know how Gamepro magazine works in terms of online, since apparently a few people got their hands on it by buying it digitally.

However.

August 10. Ed said there may be a video in store.
August 11. Kano trailer released.
If anything, that video would had gotten released during the Gamescom event, and not before.

We did get info, we got a handful of info that it's spread all over the place in topics, it may not be WOWing, but we know a little more than we did before.

The reason why some people are bummed out is because for whatever reason, everyone keeps thinking that a new character WILL be revealed, when it was never said AT ALL. We was told there will be new info around Gamescom and we got it.

Yeah we didn't learn anything new, just the same narrative we've heard since E3. Although if you're a Kano fan I suppose the past week has been something like Christmas. Can't please everybody of course.

I guess this reveal was a surprise only to anyone who was completely oblivious to the GamePro issue.

Was NRS hoping we wouldn't notice it either, or just the opposite (because, let's be real, Kano is nowhere as iconic as the previous three reveals)?

Whatever the case, folks just need to quit hanging on every word Boon says.

- Characters will have their own block animations.
- Characters will have their own uppercut and sweep animations.
- Another ality will be introduced.
- No Rain.
- Story mode, you will go back and forth in time to learn about the characters in the story.
- Release Date to be announced soon (although I don't see the point, it's a bit too early imo to say a thing)
- Console exclusive guest characters. (It's not just Sony Playstation this time).

As did I, since I personally think the whole blocking animation is probably the best I've heard so far to be thrown into this game.

Unfortunately so many are disappointed that there's no character reveal, some of that stuff is getting ignored. It's a shame, because it's truly showing how much effort is going into this game.

I'm actually quite satisfied with the info we got. I was honestly expecting at least 2 character reveals, or at least a floor demo. But I'm not disappointed because we did learn some good info about the game in general.

- New stage

- Story will be mostly 25 years after MK9 with flashbacks

- Story will revolve around the rise and fall of Kotal Kahn

- Console exclusive guests confirmed

- Rain more or less deconfirmed

- Kotal and D'Vorah have some kind of connection

- Reinforces Johnny and Sonya's chances of returning
