excluding that last part,well,I did at least,especially when they started revealing previously dead characters as kombatants in this game. Not to mention the fact that Smoke got really popular in 9(and he already had a decent fanbase before that),but,oh well. At least he had some nice cameos here and there. Better than nothing.

The way i see it... Smoke deserves to be DLC as much as Fujin, Rain, Sindel and Baraka.

This sucks but with him being the Lin Kuei's faction kill and being well dead I didn't think he was going to really be in MKX, maybe MKXI?

Do they need sequel bait? They could do what mobas and Killer instinct does and after a year release the game as free but make people pay for characters, continuously releasing new characters. I'm just hoping they just haven't any plans to release Smoke yet.

If you go by how much of the story mode they prioritize I'd say Smoke would be released some time between Baraka and Lei Mei.

TBH,it's possible to code a unique faction kill animation for him: have Cyber-Smoke or his demon form show up instead. we've had separate fatalities for Kratos in 9,and Sheeva even had one,for Skarlet's 2nd(6 pillars instead of 4)
Thing is,it all depends on who NRS wants to work on.

This is sad I though he was a shoe in for DLc but then he appeared as a faction kill and that killed his chances!

Probably get some more crap characters like lei mei or no rai cho!

I love this game, the story, the towers, the krypt everything is awesome I have even come around a bit on the roster still some changes I would've like but the dlc is really bad and expensive which is most unfortunate. I am a purist and see Jason and predator as wastes of spot and as for Tanya and tremor well they are hardly classics Tanya should have been playable from the start and tremor makes for an semi interesting character but come on he shouldn't have been in over the likes of Reiko, noob, smoke, cyrax, Fujin etx

Wait. I don't get how appearing as a faction kill hurt his chances. There are mirror fights all the time. And before I looked up the move's name I didn't think that was supposed to be smoke, because remember, every Lin Kuei in MK9's story mode was dressed like Smoke.

A mirror fight is different from a character appearing as their own cameo assist.

The MKX Lin Kuei are very distinct from Smoke and the faction kill... uses smoke to kill people. It's the most we're gonna see of Smoke in MKX, I assure you.

I do agree,looking back on it,that Boon could be trolling(you never know). Looking at it in another way,maybe Smoke was never planned to begin with,and they just made him have some nice cameos,sorta as a half baked excuse to keep him out of X. Kinda like Sektor's offscreen death.

The only reason I'm disappointed in Smoke not being in the game is because of the Enenra evolution his character got. There was so much they could have done with him, especially during story mode cutscenes.

Didn't care for Smoke in MK9, so I don't miss him.
