sick of the negativity
The main complaints here before MK9 was the fighting engine, which was understandable. Then it went from that to the no (insert character here) no buy complaints, among other complaints.
Too many people these days are jaded. That is just my opinion. I can't complain much about anything as I have yet to play the game. Yes I would have loved to see more new characters, characters that have not been seen in a while, etc.
But its definitely not something for me to complain about. MKX seems packed full of content and new online content constantly. So with this and a solid fighting engine, I am looking forward to getting busy with it. I am sure i'll be happy with it. As I am sure many doubters will as well.

Here's examples:
People wanted new characters - we got 8 of 'em. People still bitch.
People wanted all the characters from the previous game to return - we got most of 'em. They still bitch.
People wanted Tremor - they finally got that reject. They still bitch.
People wanted updated visuals and a darker tone for the game - they got it. They still bitch.
People wanted Jason - they got him. They still bitch.
People wanted Predator - they got it. They still bitch.
See a pattern? The fan base is pathetic.

So you're not a real fan if someone who supports their team no matter what and realizes whatever decisions were made in management are attempts at bettering the performance for everyone as a whole? Sorry, but that really sounds like a fan to me.
I take it you only watch your favorite sports team when they win too right?
YOU may not like a decision that was made but unfortunately YOU are not the only person in the world. Supporting and accepting anything MK given to me shows I'm a fan through thick and thin, and won't bash the decisions and team in the process. I may be bummed Cyrax isn't in but that's a personal preference because I enjoy the character. I don't come on here and say "NRS really made a poor, lazy decision. Smh, not buying this shit. " which it seems like is anywhere to be found.
It's understandable when people say "I'm sad about Mileena because she was my favorite character" as opposed to "How could they do that to Mileena??? They totally fucked up, SMH"
"13 stages WTF??? That is bullshit MK9 had blah blah ever MK1 had blah blah" - is another one of my favorites. Even Boon said "We have a better engine that allows more things to go on in the background" - meaning these are much harder and more complex to make. I'm sure with no background experience in stage design it's easy to say "13 stages is lazy NRS, SMH can't believe it"
It's these ignorant whining personality mechanics that make everyone sound like a toolbag.

I guess it boils down to the fact that until MK9, gameplay took a backseat to the mythos, fatalities and outlandish characters.
After MK9, we have fans like you/myself who became interested in the actual fighting mechanics and shit while others are stuck on story and roster choices/design so much that it would prevent them from enjoying a good fighting game, which is what we seem to have on the way, as you already said.\
Let them whine and miss out. Fuck it. The negativity across this forum has kept me from posting too much since the reveal.

I saw the complete roster (minus dlc), which was enough to make me question whether I can wait for the Komplete Edition or not. I don't need to play the game to make a judgement.

I get what youre saying and respect your opinion. But not everybodys complaints are about a certain character that didnt made it or the 13 stages are not enaugh. Certain complaints are valid in terms of making MK better. Not all complaints are personal preferences.
I never complaint about both of these issues. But it doesnt mean i have to agree with DLC scams or poor story decisions NRS is making. Or copy and paste injustice stances, moves etc on mk characters.
If we can help as a community to bring the best out of NRS by alerting them on certain decisions, i think we should do that. But i get your point, its hard to see a valid complaint if there are so many lame complaints.

Pretty much this, the only thing I would add is prior to the WB buyout, the majority of the complaints on the board were directed at the gameplay, now that NRS has stepped up their game, folks are going out of their way to find things to bitch about. Tayna's face... I mean seriously, who gives a flying rats monkey fuck about Tanya's face?

Opinions can be judged. They can be stupid, illogical, flawed, uninformed. Not all opinions worthy of listening or taking seriously.
If some idiot claims that game is bad, because of some completely miniscule issue, that do not affect anything, and gives general statement like "MK is ded", than this idiot should be laughed upon and not treated like his opinion has any merit.
Stop giving everyone baby treatment - this is a reason why part of the fanbase have degenerated into the pile of crying kindergardeners.
Also, opinions can be stated in different ways. You can state your opinion like its your personal opinion, or you can go about it like its a fact of life, when its not.

Game by definition made to be played.
But if decide to not play because of roster even before you've actually played the game and felt engine...well...case in point, I guess.

Nobody says it. But at least here a lot of people act relatively same. As in relatively stupid.
Really no point in going back and forth about it. After all, these folks that are ohhhh soooo 'sick of the negativity' have no problem with continuing to perpetuate it, in a thread that in itself is so called "negative".
They really just want to find a way to justify themselves so that they can continue to tell people to STFU and 'quit yer bitchin.' I mean seriously how mature is that?

Definitely! Yeah, I'm disappointed there is no Reiko or Havok given how awesomely they are portrayed in the comics, but I cannot wait to play the game!
This is why I worry about a post-Cage / Sonya / LK games. Because of how reluctant the 'gamer' "fans" are to embrace new characters.

I was more than ready to get to the post-Cage/Sonya era, the post-Jax era, the post-Kung Lao era, etc. But it won't make much of a difference when the new characters are just their freaking offspring. You might as well just keep their old asses around for another 5 games. That's my main gripe with the roster. Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah, and Ferra/Torr are great. That's what I want for "new characters". Not Special Forces 2.0....

Its impossible to make a Mortal Kombat game in pure perfection. There will always be missing characters, or maybe the wrong music, or missing alities some love. They wouldnt invest in that much time.
Hang in there. This is MKX. Im sure there are some suprises left, good enough to break a Fortune Teller Lady's crystal fuckin ball. Dont sweat this.
