Ok so finally we can talk about my favorite character to come from the 3D era - HOTARU! First of all I loved Deception and I think that Hotaru was epic. His design alone is very good and I found the whole Order/Chaos thing cool, Hotaru was very fun to play as and he was also somewhat relevant to the Deception storyline. I will honestly be disappointed if he doesn't return, I am fine with Onaga not coming back but Hotaru was really unique and needs to be expanded on. If he is in MK10 I will main him.

Yes for Hotaru.

Give him a fatality where he blinds his opponent's eyes with glowing lava.

YES for Hotaru. I like his design, he was fun to use and I like the gray nature of his character.

Although I don't like Hotaru he should make a come back. I liked the Chaosrealm Orderrealm feud. But for the love of God, no more stupid flags in his back. He looks ridiculous with that.

I think that a handful of the MK4 thru MKA era characters should return. I'm going to start with;

MK4
Kai- I say yes but I would like to see Neatherrealm studios fashion him similar to SC's Zasalamel first look. Make him front and center with a serious demeanor and sort-of a "lone wolf fighter"

Shinnock- Yes because the last MK game ended with him and Quan-Chi moving forward with their plans to invade Earthrealm and Outworld

Reiko- I liked Reiko but they should move away from his obsession with Shao Kahn's helmet and make him a brutal fighter.

Fujin- yes and let him fill in Raiden's role for the most part since the thunder god may be a supporting character in the next game

Quan Chi- yes and the same reason as Shinnock

Jarek- No, he was compelely irrelevant

Tanya- only if she is not a villain and is heavily redesigned

MK:DA
Bo' Rai Cho- not as a playable fighter. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the cutscences.

Li Mei- No because she was more about sex-appeal than a serious fighter

Kenshi- YES!!! He has an awesome storyline and blends well into Ermac's story

Frost- No because she didn't fit into the story well

Drahmin- No because he was more like a joke character

Hsu Hao- No, irrelavent

Mavado- Yes, they should explore the Black/Red Dragon feud storyline more

Nitara- only if the approach the vampire race in a different perspectlive (without wings)

Moloch- No, not a good boss fighter

Mokap- No

Blaze- No

Dairou- yes if they approach the mercenary story better and redo his design

Taven and Daegon- yes to both if they explore their history and dont go toward the MKA storyline
Chameleon and Khameleon- no to both since they are more like joke characters

The flags were awesome, they have to stay lol.

Hotaru is the best and he is Onaga's general too, I can't wait to see how he turns out if he returns. They should also have some cool Orderrealm maps this time.

Moloch: I'd rather he be kept in the background of the story y'know like an army of Moloch type creatures taking over shit? but as a Kombatant, No.

The helmet with the alternate costume was more interesting. It's not even known what those shitty flags represent.
A new design for an Orderrealm map is necessary. I had a tactic to not get lost in Orderrealm. A no more circular map would be welcomed.

Next is Kira who wasn't very popular but I would give her another chance .

I'd like to see Kira back as well.
But not to see a combination of Kano and Sonya again.
She needs to be given her own moves and it could be interesting to see her as Sonya's new rival.

Voting YES for Kira. Her primary Deception costume is awesome and her backstory is interesting. Too bad she got f*cked up with the moveset, but that can be easily fixed and we'll have a fine character.

Well, at least Night Shade is original. I'm not the best person to suggest a fighting style because frankly I don't distinguish the different styles. I'm the type of player who just need to know what to press to get a certain desire move, and that's it. The reason I want original moves is because I just want to distinguish one from another, not copycat.

That being said, maybe Kira should have moves base on her story. She supposedly sold weapons to terrorists in Afghanistan. Maybe she can have some form of Middle Eastern fighting style. The only one I can think of is Krav Maga.

You mean how it's just Sonya's Ring Toss but because Deception was part of a generation where they were too lazy to animate certain special effects properly, the rings were just a generic ball of pink energy instead?

Anyway, I like Kira's character design and backstory enough to want to see her return. I think they should take a cue from the leather/latex fetish vibe her outfit gives off more though and make her fight like a dominatrix, like whip attacks a bit like Catwoman's moves in their DC games.

Original enough. Kinda of like Smoke's harpoon and Cyrax's energy net.
