If Smoke had to return, he should be back unmasked.
It then would only remain Sektor and Rain's indentity unknown.

Sektor and rains identity isn't exactly unknown, Rain is an edenian prince who was added to UMK3 for no reason other than the fans liked him, and Sektor was a lin kuei ninja who willingly put himself up for automation and was programed to hunt down subzero, later sektor moved to japan and made his own army of ninjas; the tekunin

I Personally Love Smoke And Think He Should Dynamically Return But There Needs To Be Some Major Improvements Like His Costume/Outfit It Needs To Be More Classic Ninja With A Twist Like Ermac,Rain, And Sub-Zero Had In There Apperances. To be Honest I Think Smoke Needs To Return In his Shaolin monks Costume Just Much more Detail And Updated, And If Smoke Comes out A Cyborg i Think They Should make Him More Towards Him UMK3 Costume Instead Of His New Noob Saibots Servant Costume. So My Thoughts OnSmoke Are Bring Him Back As A Human And Change Him Up And If His Story Goes Well I'd Like To See Him Unmasked In The Near Future.

Hail to the Macron baby. Besides, I think their appearance was referred to, not their allegiances.

I Think Smoke looks awesome being an ethereal being, and I hope he stays that way. His costume in MK:D was awesome! However, the addition of the loin-clothe was not needed in MK:A.

i say loose the cyborg angle , but dont quite return him to ninja statice.
Say that Noob Saibot corruped his soul too much to be redeimed; causing him to be a wraith, and have him make a faustian deal with Quan Chi to make him a Wraith/Demon to try to save what's left of his soul.

ninja definetley
On Sektor:
You don't really even need to know who the human was; it's irrelevant. Sektor is a machine that has achieved self-awareness, and like any free thinking machine in modern literature, his first act of free will was mass murder [attacking shao khan's armies without being instructed to do so].
On Smoke:
Cyber smoke is my fav character in the series because he's the tragic hero. Circumstances beyond his control has made him a tool for genocide, but under normal circumstances he would be a champion. Raiden handpicked smoke as a noble human worthy of defending earthrealm, and sought to protect his soul by making impossible to take. Ironically, this contributes to smoke's downfall because Raiden's protection prevented his automation from being complete making him the most dangerous cyborg of the 3 because he's completely unpredictable, but perhaps there is some good left in the cyborg...
I vote for cyber smoke all the way, and furthermore, his primary MK Deception costume was awesome. The tubes that connected his head to a compressor tank with unknown contents: love it!!

Human Ninja, made of a cloud of smoke inside a Ninja costume.
I agree, a non-canon human smoke costume would be fun for all.
I bet they would have never made him into a cyborg if his character was introduced when they had the Computer animation to do the cool incorpeal costume. maybe they can do flashbacks? I have heard talks of a prequel game afterall...

He was in MK2, know the facts before you speak.
And I never was a big fan of Smoke. His story wasn't all that great and got worse since he became a partner of Noob. Don't wanna see this dude return.

well to see him in a human version would be cool and different. and alternating costumes, could be his cyborg costume. thats a good, reasonable solution i think

Sektor and Cyrax must be destroyed in armageddon.
I never thought it was a good idea to have so much cyborg fighters in the game, and besides, now they are different, but back in the 90's, these guys were just palette swaps of each other.
I hope that Smoke returns as a Human Ninja, made of smoke, but has an alternate costume with the robot armor.
This way, it will satisfy all fans
