I remember listening to a giantbomb bombcast episode around the time fallout 3 came out and Ed Boon was on and he mentioned he hoped they would get around to a sequel. A few weeks ago on twitter I mentioned to him that Shaolin Monks was one of the best things to come out of MK in the last decade and he responded with this:

"noobde @AbdulBCRT yea I liked Monks as well. We actually were talking about one after monks1 wrapped. Who knows what might happen?"

I think with his hmmm Shaolin Monks hes dropping a strong hint at an SM2 in the works or at least hes thinking about it.

Anything relative to the goodness that was MKSM is good, and I'm happy to see them even toying with a concept like that. Bring it on Boon!

This is about redemption right now so, I hope they hit the nail on the head with whatever they got comin'. Even if it's not a "MKSM2", and it's just something story saturated//motivated in the action RPG//Horror-like genre, I'm good.

I hope it's scary. No, I hope it's terrifying, brutal, and gruesome. I hope it has the MK story told divinely, and gameplay that dwarfs or shares similarities with some of gaming's latest best sellers.

gives me an idea for a thread..

YES! I loved the first Shaolin Monks, but a part 2 rumor from the big boss? This is good. Real good.

We all do I am quite sure you're one of the only ones around here who hasn't found out noobde is actually Ed Boon. Oh and hecterific (or whatever he's named) is Hector Sanchez.

Despite the massive plot holes and wacky dialogue (Are you all right?), I am a huge fan of Shaolin Monks and the promise of a sequel even bigger and badder then the original is beyond awesome news.

Cannot wait.

Shaolin Monks really were special. Lots of fatalities and dark atmosphere.

I would like to see Kung Lao and Liu Kang together again, but this time in the events of UMK3

I think would be rock. To fight Kahn's extermination squad of Centaurs, a whole army of Lin Kuei cyber ninjas, all in backgrounds that remind MK3.

If they make a sequel to shaolin monks 2, it should actually be long and span through events of where mk:sm left off up until the current storyline...

either way, I loved part 1. Just too damn short, i beat it with my cousin in like 4 hours. I hope they release mk9 first though and then this new one like a year later.
