I don't see why he was underused.

He was mid tier.

I liked his design in MKDA, but hated it in Mk vs. DC... as well as his primary in MK9.

I feel the same about Kano.

Shang is a classic character who deserves to be in the game as much as a liu kang or raiden, I thought he was especially bad ass in Deadly Alliance both gameplay wise and looks.

Online play means nothing as its the way the character is designed that makes them good for that its not a name or look.

Not a waste! Someone has to lead the powerful Shadow Priests and the masked guards into battle against Kotal, Quan Chi or Shinnok.
