Has anyone noticed Takeda's concept art in the game? The drawings on the first page pretty much look like Reiko with the whips that Takeda got in the end. If that was indeed Reiko who was meant to be in the game at that time, it makes me sad at the lost potential :(

Well, you all got your Tremor now. Can we finally move on?

It still blows my mind that Reiko isn't in this game. I kept the final roster a secret from myself, avoiding all news for it, and at midnight release, when I first launched the game and went to 1 v 1, I saw...no Reiko. I was baffled.

Then I played through story mode, they mention his name once. We have characters like Kotal who were developed very well in the comic coming across as an oafish brute that makes Goro look like a scholar. No Reiko, no Blood God, nothing.

They took the lamest character of all time and turned him into a big contender with some great character development...and didn't even acknowledge his existence.

I guess when Kittelsen was thinking of a storyline for the comics he wanted to use Reiko heavily. The story for the game was probably already outlined and being written. How can you blame NRS for not anticipating the resurgence of a very minor character at that time? Kittelsen is doing a great job with the comics and it has risen Rekio's stock tremendously. NRS will either add him in the second Kombat pack or make him a playable character in MK11 due to his recent popularity.

I really had hoped to see him in the games story, though. I think getting the newbies over is a higher priority than rebooting the 3D era kast.
