Love Raiden. one of my top 5 faves and want him in this game wiht his MKDA look but if it comes down to him being the lead hero or fujin? give me Fujin or give me death.

I dunno, I like Raiden, I really do. However, I have this gut feeling that he's going to be someone we have to kill, and it's because he goes insane. I really like everyone's ideas on what they have him doing, but for some reason this is what I'm going to stick with, that he becomes insane after the events of 2011, as well as events that happens during this game as well, and we have to kill him.

Thus having Fujin being the Earthrealm protector during this whole game so he has chance.

This is another old idea I think could work...

I came up with the idea at one point to make him human. Basically he violated enough of the rules trying to protect earth-realm in his own way that the Elder Gods ended up demoting him. Or rather, they'd "stricken" him to a pure human form. Minimal chi usage, which would mean little to no lightning, no real superhuman strength aside from what other can do in the game...etc etc etc

I thought this was rather interesting because a stipulation to his demotion could be that in order to "redeem himself, he'd need to become a contestant in the mortal kombat contest, and the only way he'd be able to regain his god-hood and position over earthrealm would be to win the MK contest.

It is a Raiden/Thor/Zeus/Hercules type story that they could twist around a bit to make sure we feel the impact of. It would allow us to find out other things about him and his history while he's going through this, and it would build him into the protector of earthrealm.

Other than that, when he gets his God powers back, I think that'd be a pretty awesome moment.
