he wasn't deconfirmed, Boon was asked if Rain would be DLC to which he responded his chances would be less likely because they wanna do as many new things as possible in MKX. you people throw the words confirm and deconfirm at will , jesus -.- there's still a chance for him to be in the main roster or as a secret unlockable character

Dude as much as I hate to burst your bubble, Rain is out. I was one of his biggest supporters and I was as disappointed as the next person after Boon's interview but let's face it. Better not to keep your hopes up coz it's really not looking good for him.

If Rain was to be in MKX, NRS have already given him a spot on the roster. But everything points towards him NOT being in the game, and was deconfirmed as DLC.

Oh come on. Rain is the fantasy father of my future children but this is seriously pathetic. I was a vocal voice and would have signed and contributed to ANY petition when it came to his inclusion about MK9 because that was a game he DESERVED to be in as he was indeed a character in UMK3/MKT who didn't deserve to be cut. With MKX,it's completely different, he has no right over anyone to be in. Do I want him in? Of Course I do, but to resort to petitions?

It hurts, I know, but try and find some dignity in the situation and let's move on. I will NOT be signing a thing. This is an embarrassment.

Yeah petitions won't work. The only ones who get to say if Rain is in or not is NRS.

The only way he might appear is if NRS made a poll themselves like they did for Injustice, and Rain was ranked 1st.

Don't forget that the timeline and the story the game is in. Rain wasn't even mentioned in the storyline of MK9.

Yes he has a lot of fan's but there are other characters out there who deserve a overhall. Tremor, Fujin and Shinnok for example.

He was not relevant to the main story, but he does exists in the New Timeline, as well as Argus.
Otherwise, Kenshi and Skarlet are also non-canon characters in the game, which is laughable thought.

Skarlet and Kenshi would make perfect characters in de the storyline. Didn't Rain had a small part in Armageddon

I think most of the replies in this thread confirm that that if Ed Boon deconfirms a character, no matter how popular said character is, fans will accept that character's exclusion without resistance. But maybe I'm being harsh here. It may just be because Rain isn't popular with the casual crowd, who almost always get more say than the hardcore fans. If the casual crowd said "JUMP!", developers would probably ask "how high?".

But it's funnier to think hardcore fans take the path of least resistance, especially when so many of them say that if their favorite character doesn't return, they won't buy the upcoming game.

And I don't get that. To me, Rain is alot more interesting a character with some cool moves than Hydro, some random Lin Kuei nobody.

But luckily, Hydro is never going to happen.

Meh, Rain to me is just another power hungry ninja with boring storyline and moveset, who started as a joke character and hasn't contributed anything to the series.
And I like cyborgs, so yeah, I would prefer Hydro.

Ah, the Legacy version of Hydro. He started out as a Malibu comicbook character who was just a weaker Sub-Zero with water powers who was created just to be killed... just like in Legacy.

But yeah, I don't get the fascination with these characters. Like people who want Art Lean from the movie... I mean, why? He's just mister random dude created just to be killed. He wasn't even likeable, imo.
