It was just one of the more silly moments of that game. There's a fine line, I admit, but I can enjoy Cassie Cage blowing blood bubbles but Jax carrying a flag in his back pocket to a death match and using it as a cape is just a little north of that line.

Different strokes though.

I guess I've always seen Jax, as a person, as being "north of the silly line" in his entirety and I feel like the more you turn towards the crash with him, the better he gets as a character.

I mean he's an army major in charge of a unit that hunts criminals like the FBI do instead of fighting in wars and is based more on the GI Joes than the military, in his first appearance he was billed as an obsessive workout nut and "The World's Strongest Man", he fights ENTIRELY using actual Professional Wrestling moves, he talks in catchphrases that, depending on which game you're playing, vary from "Will Smith in ID4" to "he's suddenly a gangster rapper" to "deliberate 70's Blaxploitation", and on top of all of that, he ALSO just happens to be an engineering genius who built his own bionic arms, mastered hacking into Lin Kuei cyberninja brains AND after just LOOKING at a couple magic interdimensional portals didn't take long to figure out how to build a Stargate.

And he ALWAYS has an American flag behind him in every single select screen picture. So why NOT just assume he literally carries the damn thing at all times?

The only time anything about him has ever been too much for me was the Giant Man stomp in MK3.
