We shall certainly find out! Suspense and mysteries are fun during a new MK development period. Whether it is Moloch, I think it is safe to say it is an oni. A nod to MK5 is good news as that opens the doors to MK5 favorites, such as Bo Rai Cho. This intro features Cassie, thus it would be safe to assume there are indeed different intros depending on who you are fighting against.

Odd, he didn't have that in his intro in his reveal trailer... So the characters have several intros? That's kinda neat.
Also, that doesn't necessarily need to be Moloch, but just another Oni. It could be one of the smaller ones that you fight in MK:SM.

Has anyone seen this? (It's his P2 intro, mind you.)
Edit: Rats! I'm an idiot. Had I read those chain posts above, I would have realized that, except they started talking about Dave Mustaine and Pat Sajak. That's surprising in that I would've expected someone to create a whole new thread here by this point. (P.S. I think the link has been fixed, in case anyone is still interested. Otherwise, I don't know what the issue is.)
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

Quan Chi is an Oni as well, right? I just realized that the dot on his forehead could possibly represent his third eye, like Moloch has. It's odd to think that Quan Chi might have looked like Moloch at some point before he learned magic and changed his appearance.
It's not an eye, it's a chakra.
And the word "Oni" is used to describe all demons, not just a particular type. So yes, technically he is one, but the chakra in the middle of his forehead isn't something that is representing a third eye.
Not to mention, he never had it in Mythologies nor did he had it in his debut.

Ear's not the same from QC's intro oni head. But still, I believe he actually is Moloch. It's a pity, really, both he and Drahmin deserved another chance...

He got it in MKDA, along when it was confirmed he was an Oni and Moloch made his debut.
And yes, IRL it is a chakra, and the red dot on the forehead is known as a bindi, which in Hinduism represents "the third eye".

As for Oni being the term for ALL demonic residents in the Netherrealm isn't quite true though. It's a type of demon.

Not when it says this:
Oni is a term taken from Japanese folklore, which in the Mortal Kombat world seems to just be a generic word to describe all the demons of the Netherrealm. They are first seen as nothing more than glowing yellow eyes in Goro's Lair in the original Mortal Kombat. In Mortal Kombat: Deception, they are depicted as hideous creatures with sharp claws, wild hair, and two long horns growing from their heads, but are humanoid for the most part. Still others in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks are shown as apelike and burly creatures, with glowing eyes similar to Moloch's. They are all said to roam the Netherrealm in search of damned souls to torment for their own personal pleasure. After making their way to Outworld, they were said to have been seen hiding in the Living Forest, consuming those who entered. The only well-known, playable Oni are Drahmin, Moloch, and Quan Chi. Belokk was also believed to be an Oni, but he was scrapped prior to Mortal Kombat Gold and was never featured in any game.

As for the eye part, I misread that part from your post. I apologize.

You got a point there, but it also says that Quan Chi is FORMERLY an Oni, but is now called a Demon, which appears to be the evolved form he and other human-looking characters from the Netherrealm is called, such as Sareena and Ashrah.

You are right about it being the general term though, a mistake on my part.

Moloch has three eyes.
Goro's Lair Oni's has two.
Quan Chi is holding him by his hair (yes he has hair).
Goro's Lair Oni's seems to be like a hairless babies.
Moloch's ears look like slight deformed human ears, both updated and outdated.
Goro's Lair Oni's from MKSM have long pointy ears. I'm talking Zelda long.
It's Moloch.
"You will bow to me!" Never really cared for Quan until I mained him in MK9.
I really am gonna miss my rune trap mk9 combos. They look easier to avoid in this game, BUT I am positive that Quan Chi will cause just as many rage quits as he did in the past installment.
R.I.P. to the "Yuah, huah, WOOLAY" string lol.
Also, the way Quan Chi was holding moloch's head.....it looks like someone else's head belongs there.

Do you think he will be able to summon more than just a bat? That bat is kind of disappointing.

I love just about everything from the Quan Chi reveal, the variations are all amazing...except the bat. Seriously??? Couldn't the creators just use the demon horse that Quan Chi was riding in the intro as part of the variation (the horse charging or kicking with it's hind legs the opponent).
