Here we go again... a vertical slice after the great start. So repetitive....so boring.....so disappointed.
The whole fatality should be what we seen in the trailer. Or.. maybe a couple of seconds more. The victim should stay impaled on the floating blade.

What would have also fit Quan Chi, was to have the blade disappear once it came out the back of the opponent's head, then have the body slump to the ground, only to have Quan Chi's magic raise the body again as one of the sorceror's undead minions. It's a nod to the scene where Raiden went to the Netherrealm to ask Quan Chi for his help in MK9.

This is much better than the crap we actually get, so thanks. Most fatalities sucked in MK9 and it looks like most will suck in MKX. NRS over-does it with them; I like them to be simpler, like Kotal's or Cassie's. And I'm getting tired of 'vertical bisection' fatalities. So far, my finishing moves will be simple uppercuts. Oh well.

It may be something we have seen before, but it is still creative. It's a more sadistic approach which is something we haven't seen in a down the middle fatality.

That's Raiden sans hat (which falls off of his head at the 'Finish Him' screen.)

Creative or not, I like them as short as possible. As someone said before me, they're over-doing the finishers. Again.

I am actually kind of disappointed in the full fatality, lol. I think the beginning is awesome and unique, but the vertical slice ending is just way overdone at this point.
I think I would have preferred if Quan Chi just let the victim continue their way through the sword. Maybe Quan Chi could step to the side and watch with a smirk as the sword slowly exits out the back of their neck, hilt and all. The victim stumbles a bit more then falls to the ground. Quan then grabs the still floating sword. The end!
Oh well, I guess I just like simple straight forward fatalities. Not the end of the world, though. Game is shaping up to be awesome.

Totally agree. I think a little style is better than just over the top gore. Specially with the vertical splitting thing as thats been used a few times now.

Well, it is a long pointy blade being forced into the throat of the opponent... I can see why.

This intrigues me as well.
It makes me think they just might reveal something at the Brazil Game Show after all. At first I thought they would just show off Quan Chi to the public, but since he's already playable it gives me hope for another reveal.
However, I keep my hopes rather low.

Icebaby...c'mon. Imagine Quan doing that on Cassie? Or D'Vorah? It's practically Rule 34 bait.
As for the full fatality, I love it. I would've preferred if it was a quick impale and then Quan takes out the sword and portals away, being a busy guy and all but I don't feel the urge to join the usual suspects in whining. I've never really loved QC but Jesus, I feel like this game could get me to love Sindel, Kira and Jade. I want this game so badly already.
I'm really loving the lack of fucks Quan is clearly giving. Every other character is so hyped and pumped, understandably so as a battle to the death is a pretty big occurrence but Quan is either trotting in on his Satangoat as if he's off to desolate a continent or just popping in from murdering a fucking sub-boss with the head still freshly dripping blood. It's just a little break to the guy, a bit of R&R before he goes back to conquering the universe. The only way I could be more hyped for the lack of fucks would be if his Round Win quote was "Can we hurry this up? I've got a genocide at three"

That is a much better idea. Someone Tweet this to Ed Boon's Twitter, NOW!
No, I'm serious! Someone do it! Please!

Wow, it's like you never played Mortal Kombat Deception.
I think the Fatality's great.
BUT, I find the split down the middle seemed to look better/gorier in MK9...In MKX as seen in FerraTorr's Fatality, the body looks too clean cut, the insides look like a texture...whereas in MK9 you had the ribs and such details coming out of the body...
Oh well...

Well, it's better then him doing a shitty decap or slicing their stomach afterwords. This is alright I guess. I really like the beginning.

I actually kind of prefer this for this particular fatality. I mean, it's kind of a clean slice through the body. There wouldn't be huge, uncut bones sticking out i'd imagine.
It would probably work better the MK9 way if it were a tearing fatality like Noob's.

This isn't really related to this topic but the video is from the same event in Moscow and I didn't want to create yet another thread just for this. SZ has a new move and an epic mid-round victory pose;

Glad to see they are still adding moves to characters

Didn't love the lift, but the drop saved it for me. Fitting ruthless fatality for a ruthless character.

I'm sorry, I know that you were being a good sport by putting this here, but this is clearly worthy of its own thread! Seriously dude! Good find!
