Praying for an Animality Comeback
Praying for an Animality Comeback

I hope not.
I was just talking to my boyfriend yesterday about this ality being included and my reason why I DON'T want it in simply because of this:
Cyrax can turn into a shark and swim around in concrete.
But all in seriousness:
The problem that is going to come across is that there's too many animals out there that are obviously going to do the same thing. You're either going to have them maul the opponent to death, get eaten, or if the animal has a certain defense mechanism on them they'll use it. That's really all we get to see. And yeah you can say that for the fatalities, you can do them so many times until they get boring. But I don't see a use for animalities if they can't really do anything special other than what I've described. They're best to have just been in Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate.

I'd rather see Friendships return than Animalities. But "Friendship" doesn't end in "-ality". I suppose it's possible that "-ality" was used as a generic term for any finishing move. But probably not.

If it was to return, I would want them to end in the kombatants Fatality. You could choose which Fatality you want to be done. I didn't like how at the end of the Brutality in MK3, the last hit was an uppercut and your foe exploded.
I wouldn't mind if we got Animalities. They would have to real animals and not like how they were presented in MK3.

No, I never ever liked Animalities. They were just so stupid, and made zero sense. If anything, I'd welcome Brutalitys or Friendships. Friendships would be my preference, it's a nice alternative to killing someone, and it's silly like Babalitys without being just stupid like Cyrax turning into a shark and swimming in solid concrete.

I'm pushing for Friendships. It's all about the contrast.

More sense than Scorpion turning into a penguin, or Reptile a monkey.

Animalities were fun in MK3 but that's about it. I'd rather have Friendships. They were hella fun and they could replace Babalities.

I'm a little surprised Hara Kiris haven't been mentioned yet in this thread.

Hara Kiri's or Friendships would be sweet.
No to Animalities, I've always found them stupid.
X-Rays > Brutalities

In the video in question Mr. Boon specifically refers to "Friendships" as one of the potential "-alities" that could make a return. I would prefer that myself, but the more I see it mentioned in this thread the more sense Hari-Karis actually make with the tone of this game.

Here's a quote from Ed Boon (TRMK) in relations to the other "-ality":
Patrick went on to say that it was "awesome" and that he couldn't wait until it was revealed to everyone. This makes it sound like it's a completely ORIGINAL finishing move that hasn't been in the past games! I think that's a cool idea.
Ed Boon:
Well the Fatalities won't. There will be a new "ality" that we can't talk about, but I'll tell you when we stop the recording, and there is a chance that those will require you to unlock them.

Finaly a good thread! 10/10 gg bro lol
If I had to choose between Animalities/Brutalities it would be a very difficult choice, but i guess the Xrays a like a short versions of brutalities, so please Animalities granted for MKX, im sure they will look crazy on next gen hardware lol @ Icebaby: Its kind of true, cyrax's Animality would look strange, but im sure they can use a different ground animation for his Animality.

Animalities make no sense what so ever.
I predict a new finishing move based on brutalities but with an X-ray twist to it.
