I can assure you Jax is in for story purposes, not popular demand. Replace him with Kung Lao and you're 100% correct, though.

From what I heard half the main roster doesn't have that big of a role in the story and that the NPCs like Rain have bigger roles than characters on the initial roster which begs the question. WHY THE FUCK WASN'T RAIN PLAYABLE?

Seriously, couldn't they give Rain a spot? NRS are funny.

Also Goro is on disk and he is DLC, if they get shit for that then NRS deserves it, that's kind of stupid and shady.

Why is Goro the Sub-boss when he doesn't have any involvement in the story of the game and why do we have to pay for him as DLC when he is already in the game and finished? Why couldn't we just unlock him?

To be honest, the gameplay is AMAZING and so fluid and perfect but I told you before in a different thread that had the title "This MK game is the best MK ever" Or something along those lines before seeing the story or playing the game themselves. I pointed out that we should wait and try the game ourselves before judging if this is the "Best MK game ever", people from that thread that were saying "It's the best" are now saying "it's not all that great".

Which proves my point, gameplay isn't everything that's why other games like SF with amazing gameplay are not on the same level as MK.

Keep in mind he said "gameplay" and that to me makes it worth discussing. I mean when you saw cassie cage didn't you think that johnny and sonya were going to be on the sidelines? And then we got Jacqui or whatever and it seems like jax was an after thought....but then we get the cage family and jax comes back too? Remove Cage, sonya and jax and put in Tanya, Rain, and Sareena/Lei Mei.

To me giving cassie some of sonya's moveset and some of johnny's moveset but not putting in Jade cause Kitana has her moveset seems dumb.

But that's just my POV from a gameplay perspective. To each their own.

I got a soft spot for Kung Lao though >_> lol but true. Him along with Kitana were favorites in the tournament scene and while thats cool and all, it could have played a factor as to why they returned as well.

Erron Black feels like he was totally underutilized.

Like Boba Fett he's just kinda coasting on his looks and perceived mysterious personality from back before we saw any footage of him and his execution in the game just seems kinda lackluster.

I'm not even trying to hate on him, I think he's a good concept, but could've just been done better.

Not sure if I'd have called him wasted though.

Sonya isn't a wasted spot, her gameplay is different than Cassie and she is very important to the story, much more than Kitana, Kung Lao, Kitana, Ermac, Reptile, Erron Black Ferra/Torr and Liu Kang.

Also, Jax, Sareena, Tanya and Rain have more importante than any of the above.

Honestly I think out of everyone it's a tie between sonya or Kung jin (not sure on spelling) that drone shit is boring as hell and the arrows gameplay look very boring. Night wolf would have done a much better job filling that role. If I had to keep going, jax's daughter is another pointless one. Do we really need two cyber arm family members that just seem like male/female swaps? They are very similar.
