posted01/21/2009 06:54 PM (UTC)byxdcthuludx ok I think that the mk universe has enough characters to chose from in any new games that are beingcreated so my question is does anybody think we need more characters. Does anybody even want anymore or do you think the 64 guys in mka is enoughe to satiate our need for characters?

No need. i think this is a battle of what Mortal Kombat's best fighters can do against DC's best heroes. This game might have be made for fun. A response to the definit end of Armageddon people.

for any new characters created, why not start with characters that have been mentioned in an mk game:
Hornbuckle
Jataaka
Jerrod
Kia
Monster
No Face
Takeda
Tasia
Tremor
Karasu
Siang
Hydro
Why not use these characters, they have been mentioned.

The ONLY new character I would ever wanna see is Jerrod, because I can't be bothered learning new storylines. I already know the current ones too well.

couple new every game over time.
1 or 2 per game or something...not an over abundance. Then put in maybe one from the comics or other media whenever it makes sense to do so...

i think make some new characters but kontinue to bring back the original characters like liu kang, scorpion and so on but with out the old klassic characters the game would lose the things which made it great back in 1992. with the klassic characters bring back more classic levels.

I like all these responses and comments but, i mostly ask this because i personally thought the new characthers in deception were very lame especially ashrah, kobra and Dairou. Anyway i just really want midway to avoid boring bland characters and really put chars in the game they know will be interesting and not just memory on a disk.

i agree.
if new character are to come up, they need to have a good storyline to back them up.
and there have been mentioned characters, but not all of them are worth using. for example, hornbuckle has no story line whatsoever.
and Jerrod as a new character would make a nice addition to the next mk because it would nicely conclude the events in armageddon.

I don't believe Mortal Kombat needs anymore new characters, and if they were to add new ones they need to seriously cut down on the amount of new characters they actually add in a game. There were a whopping eight new characters introduced in Deadly Alliance. In Deception, only three of the ones introduced in Deadly Alliance returned and ANOTHER eight new ones were introduced. That's too ridiculous and causes a lot of problems regarding character development. It's hard to care about characters if they're not even given the chance by Mortal Kombat's own development team, and it's even harder when a lot of new characters seem uninspired and dull. If they're going to introduce new people they really need to cut it down to like two or three tops to allow everything to flow a lot more smoothly. They also need to stop retconning storylines so presumed dead characters are allowed to come back.
