2) It's a bad Photoshop Job, you can obviously see the background is taken from the Next trailer and if you look Closely Sub-zero has white outlines, meaning someone tried to take him from the select screen of a gameplay video but poorly failed.

Tanya and Shinnok will most likely be in but this is just a fake.

Easy just take Sub-zero from any gameplay video even the E3 gameplay using photoshop.

It's a cut-out of D'vorah and Sub-zero, the background is just a screen shot from the Next trailer.

As a Graphic Artist... I'm inclined to say fake.

The white glow behind the characters' heads looks noticeably different behind Tanya and Shinnok than it does the other characters. Tanya's is a very pronounced circle of light, wheras everyone else has a more gradual fade. Shinnok's starts pronounced like Tanyas, but then stops before it hits the edges and goes completely black. Which none of the others do.

Also, the borders around the middle portraits are all a flat grey, likely because they're just grey squares someone photoshopped into the middle portion. You'll notice the far right borders have lighting and texture to them that's completely absent on these.

Furthermore, as mentioned, Sub-Zero appears to have some white pixel noise around him, like someone cut him out poorly from another image. As does the word "Sub-Zero" in the lower left corner. Evidently this person can handle cutting up squares in photoshop, but is no good at clipping complex shapes.

Also, the select screen background has always been the dead forest, not saying that couldn't change, but it's conspicuous in this case.

Also, no Goro. (He's DLC, so this isn't conclusive proof, but seems suspicious to think they'd add him in the last build and then remove him in this one)

It does look like one photo of a single screen, which makes me think it's a still image, and the artist set his photoshopped select screen to full screen on his monitor/TV and then snapped a blurry picture to try and make it look more convincing.
