I really want MKX to have a lot of classic locations and stages filled with stage fatailties as DLC if necessary.

The most time I have spend in the MK universe is in MK 2011 and one of the prior arcade games; therefore I want to experience some of the nostalgia of the past in MKX with a graphical enhancement. I would pay a high premium for revamped classic stages as DLC, I truly value backgrounds more highly than some classic characters.

Future transitions to a fresh roster would be much easier for me with the above mentioned items.

A ladder/arcade mode with tons of secrets.

Fujin's absence in MK9 left me a tad bit disappointed, and I will be similarly disappointed if he isn't playable in this game.

It would bother me if Havik or Reiko didn't make it. At least one of them should be in there. They can even be DLC.

Cassie has fire. It's performed in a slightly different manner but its pretty damn close. And I am pretty sure Sonya has a gadget that she uses for her "chi" attacks.

I never intended on bashing anyone's character but I feel as though I need to bash this notion into your head that Sonya is NOT so unique given Cassie's existence. What sonya was in the previous games has been given (of course with a different skin and different moves) to her daughter.

Oh Sonya can do three special things?? Oh jeeze how could one character have SO many unique abilities??

I hope this makes sense for you, imagine a mortal Kombat game where 24 characters were on the roster and they all were cryomancers. Subby's and Frosts running around everywhere. Yet they all have different move sets. Is that original?

Or better yet a mortal kombat with 24 blondies running around, they all can kick and punch and do gymnastics and OH WAIT they can all use gadgets too. They all have different move sets tho! So it's cool and original, right!?

I hope I laid it on thick enough. My ultimate point in the sonya thread was that I (me, my opinion) is that even two similar character's on the same roster will be too much. If you feel differently (and clearly your unconditional love for everything Sonya is strong enough where you can't possibly stray away from dullness) then so be it.

Cassie wasn't created as a replacement for Sonya, or Cage, hence her getting different moves AND abilities.

If we get a Reptile replacement, the "new" one would have the same lackey, punching bag stroyline as the original Reptile, similar look, SAME moves, and the same (lack of) personality. Cassie's got a completely different personality to Sonya, different abilities (such as the green hands, and not superhuman kisses), and a different look. If you're thinking Sonya will not be seen anymore since Cassie "replaced" her, you're in for a big dissapointment.

Also correct. REPLACEMENT being the key word here. If Cassie was Sonya's/Johnny's replacement, she would most likely have their moves as well.

That said, they COULD make another Saurian character who was remniscent of Reptile, might even be Reptile's son, without giving him Reptile's looks and moves, thus NOT making him Reptile's replacement and then still have Reptile in the roster as well. Then it would be exactly like having both Cassie and Sonya/Johnny in the roster.

First off, the reptile comments.. not cool. Yeah he's been a lackey but at least he is one of the most creative character's in the entire game.

I thought I made it clear countless times that I do not hate Sonya. Just because I am not a huge fan of her's doesnt mean I hate her. I have also stated before that If a new Saurian was revealed I would be hoping for reptile to sit out this time around.

MY ONLY POINT is that I want diversity in the roster. IMO Cassie and Sonya are too much a like to both be on the roster. Obviously NRS feels different since we have heard many rumors of Sonya's Inclusion. I am not disputing that.

Contrary to popular belief this forum is intended for speculation and discussion. So by voicing my opinions on having similar character's on a limited roster I have done no wrong.

Jaded, yes their moves would most likely be different (just like Cassie is to Sonya and Johnny).. who would want this? Its so stupid! Either give me Reptile or give me his son. I dont want both, we have no room for both.

I feel the same with Cassie and her old folks. We have Cassie, she's the next generation, Adam Urbano said that the X in MKX is a metaphor for the next generation... then why insist on putting in the old generation then?

NRS should have made a choice; either put Cassie in alone, or not have Cassie at all, but instead put in Johnny and Sonya. No, she does not play as them, but she represents them.

IF roster space wasn't a problem, then by all means, bring them ALL in. All of them. However, it IS an issue, so is should be either one or the other.

And before people go bitching at me, I would feel the same if there was a new female Edenian character in the game. If she stood in to represent Kitana/Jade/Tanya, then I'd rather she would be in the game as the only one.

The main problem with this "new generation" thing is that it's something other games have tried, and they became VERY popular because of it. Street Fighter 3 and Soul Calibur 5 are just examples of it.

All in all... it's a pretty tough call. The main thing that is the issue is roster space. And having too many of just one type of character would be too much.

I'd also be disappointed if there is no version of a "challenge tower" like what we saw in MK9, or like the STAR Labs from Injustice.

I agree with this. I mean, Jade and Shang Tsung are my two favorite characters in the MK universe, but I'd be totally fine with them sitting this one out, not only due to what happened in the last game, but to also make room for characters that are more relevant during this story arc.

But I'd be royally pissed if we didn't get, say, Shinnok, while we got Kano. Shinnok's invasion is a direct continuation of the MK9 storyline. Even though the outcome of it is obviously different this time (hello Kotal Kahn), Shinnok is still around and he is still set up to be one of this story's villains. Giving him only a passing mention, or killing him right before the story really begins would be a **** move...one that I'm actually legitimately worried NRS might make.

Naturally I'll be pissed if Ermac is left out, since his popularity is arguably at an all-time high right now.

Totally agree. Raiden's been looking particularly awesome to me. Also, even if there is a low amount of ninja like characters, it'll be cool to rekindle my interest in the originals like Sub and especially Scorpion. In a weird way a lack of ninja's just makes the existing ones all the more cool to me. But yeah I'll be disappointed if Ermac doesn't make it in since he's been my favorite since the UMK3 days.

No one knows how Sonya plays in MKX, not only him. She's not even legitimately confirmed yet. Although, we know she will be in.
