What I liked so much about the original Mortal Kombat games was that the characters were very realistic for their time.

The one thing I would love to see make a return is the ultra-realistic characters. Obviously not the 2D sprites used back in the day, I don't think that would pass in todays world other than to us fans. I would love to see the characters have the ultra realistic look that the upcoming TNA IMPACT! video game has. I don't know how to do the URL code on this board, so just Google them if you don't know. They're awesome!

Can you imagine if Mortal Kombat had graphics like this? I've never liked the over-'roided look that the characters had in the last couple games, and they seem to be taking a nice direction with the graphics in the MKvsDC game. I never really liked how they've made the ninjas look like samurai warriors. The Unreal Engine 3 has so many things they could use to their advantage, like during a fatality, instead of the character exploding and looking really cartoony, it would look pretty realistic, ala Gears of War.

With graphics like these, the promising gameplay of MKvsDC, and a great story with some actual full motion videos, I think we could have a 'Game of the Year'. grin

I really agree with that. And we have to know that all this stuff is for ONE game, so we can ́t really imagine what will be the future features in the next generation of games.
I would like to see the new generation of the bloody fatalities! It will rock!

My Take? Repost from the Overall Forum:

Mortal Kombat should = Old Martial Arts Movie(s) Jackie Chan movies are probably the most relative to translate into a video game mechanism. Cuz he's all over the place, and his opponents are always diverse.

Konquest Mode should = that game Prototype, or be modeled after an MMORPG (Use the Clans; races, ranks, skill levels, powers, attributes....the works.)

Online = I like what Call of Duty 4 did. Quite impressive to me, but I don't know how that would really translate into Mortal Kombat.

Gameplay = I'd like to see a progressive learning curb between dail-a-combos, and strings.

Story = Character development from some good fantasy novels, or even just modeled after mythological characters. But if they referenced movies, probably Unleashed(what brings the contest//fighters together) The Matrix (every character has some comprehensive history, made me care about all the characters. Tank, the Keymaker, ect.. All the minor characters still had adequate character build.)

Atmosphere = If they don't finally put this game back in the fantasy horror department soon, I think I'm gonna beat them to it. lol But seriously, that's what I want from MK. All these "happy fighting" games get on my nerves. Fighting is scary, full of adrenaline...ect. Put THAT in the game.
