Why would Jax be in the Black Dragon stage, though? Is he bound to the chair or something?

I seriously don't see shit in the background. All I see is a woman tied up in the chair in the foreground. Nothing majorly moving except for wheels in the background and then sparks come out.

Because he's clearly tied to the chair. Pause the vid then view it on fullscreen, it's clearly Jax.

Unpausing the vid you'll see he's struggling behind his back, so he must be captive at the Black Dragon hideout. This is probably part of a story mode cutscene.

I'm not saying that it's absolutely, positively, 100% Jax, but there clearly is a glimmer on that person's arms.

Edit: I was wrong, might not be Jax, pausing it at 1:51 it looks like there could be a ponytail that flips out to the right side of the head during the persons struggle. Could be Cassie or Sonya, I don't know.

Alright. That person (or Jax) is super out-of-focus, anyway.

All I see is what "supposedly is Sonya" sitting down on the far right tied to a chair.

My excitement for this game just grew tenfold. They're really pulling out all the stops with the interactivity features that exist regardless of individual player skill.

What. The. Fuck!

I picked the wrong fucking morning to sleep in, that's for sure. So, a few thoughts;

1) That is definitely Sonya in the UK trailer. The facial model is completely different and I highly doubt they would waste their time/resources making an altered face just for a different variation/costume. The only thing that changes there are outfits and accessories.

2) It's clearly Liu Kang. Whether he's a God or not is up for debate, but I'm getting vibes off of him that remind me of that Shang Tsung ending in MK9. I think we may have our evil Fire God.

3) It's clear as day to me as well that the guy is an older and buffer Jax. The medal goes all the way up the arms to the shoulders. It can be no other.

4) Bow guy looks interesting. Maybe has what looks to be a metal headpiece on his head? Might be a descendant of Nightwolf or maybe another Aztec-inspired Outworld warrior.



Looks like that might be Ferra/Torr but then again it looks like golden armor unless its just the coloring being off. I have no fucking clue.

All in all, great shit.

Trailer was great. This game will set the bar for fighters to come. Guaranteed.

That is 100% Sonya. No way in hell is that Cassie and no way in hell would NRS make an iconic character such as Sonya an alternate for Cassie. This is Sonya, get used to it. She looks great (from the shoulders up) and the ring around her neck screams that Johnny doesn't make it (). That's is also Jax, definitely. It's not Kano and it doesn't look like anyone other than Jax. Pretty excited to see him back. I'm also leaning towards that one statue being God Lui, which is what I wanted to see . That bow character, imo, 100% looks like a member of Kotal's race. Can't wait to see him. Factions and Living Towers look great. Didn't expect to see Test Your Luck/Might back, glad to see them though. Sorry to anyone who believed they saw Mileena but there is nothing in that trailer or screen capped that looks even a bit like Mileena. Some new stages were shown off when going through the Factions, like the Black Dragon's Faction arena looking like a warehouse and the Special Forces Faction arena looking like a hangar/armoury. Brotherhood of Shadow stage looks awesome. Shao Khan's armour in the background was great and the mention of Chaosrealm gets me hyped for Havik. All in all, great trailer! This game is going to be so good and I'm glad it got the non-coarse edition pre-ordered before they were all sold out! Roll on April!

Jax is probably one character who's inclusion I'm dreading.

Idk if Sonya is in as her own playable character with 3 variations or if they are just making Sonya an alternate for Cassie (id be fine with that) but that lady in the Special Forces faction looks like Sonya to me, I don't think it is Cassie because that woman has a different face completely, or at least that's how it looks to me.

I like Mileena's new look and we get to see her a tiny bit in the video. Where are all the brand new fighters we were promised?

Yep. With the supposed roster size of around MK9, this is literally turning into (so far) MK9 Redux, swapping out the Trilogy characters they didn't want back like Jade for brand new faces.

It's whatever. It could still happen, mind you and they are just keeping them hush hush, but on the off chance that's not the case I would've liked this to feel more like a collective of the whole MK Universe with some other games represented.

Time will tell.

I still think they're keeping 3D characters as surprises and the last reveals, seeing as they're the most requested. Even if there's two or three 3D characters, there's always DLC.

If I had to guess, I think that helmet sort of thing that the archer is wearing makes him look like Shinnok a bit, but I'm not going to speculate otherwise because I can't see jack shit on my phone lol.

I really hope that if characters like Sonya and Jax return, that they're alt versions of characters.

Like when you'd rotate the pictures for Kano and Raiden and Kung Lao and what not in MK Trilogy to get their old looks.

Maybe you unlock some characters through the story and select them by rotating their corresponding character pic, like Cassie for Sonya, Jacqui for Jax, Ermac for Kenshi etc.

Also, did anyone actually clarify if there are any real differences between factions? Like perks or bonuses specific to the Black Dragon or White Lotus beyond getting bonuses if that faction wins the week?

I'm just curious, because right now the choice seems almost aesthetic alone. Anyone have an opinion or have we just not seen enough yet?

Wouldn't bet on that. DLC this time around will be returning Trilogy characters that didn't make the roster. I'm almost certain of it.

Oh god... Kitana creates the same kind of forward moving tornado projectile Fujin had in MKA... Now I'm even more worried for him.
