If you're hung up over the name and can't enjoy the concept of MKX brutalities, then you are definitely looking at this from the wrong perspective. If they were called something else, would you be more accepting? If your answer is yes, then get over it.

Even though that shit would have been 10x better.

Yeah, fuck no. And are you really whining about the definition of the word? Getting a head chopped off is pretty brutal. Brutalities are a FANTASTIC way to end a combo and match in a BRUTAL fashion without being over the top and repetitive like a fatality. Why you expected a brutality to be more over the top than a fatality is beyond me and in reality would be pretty fucking stupid.

If Sub-zero had fire powers would you be disappointed?
if Scorpion had boobs and did spinning kicks instead of his spear, would you be disappointed?
I am not looking at it from the wrong perspective.
If Friendships were not funny but instead involved cutting people's heads off and burning them alive, wouldn't you also be disappointed?
If Fatalities were silly and stupid like Liu Kang's MK1 Fatality, wouldn't you be disappointed?
Everybody thought Liu Kang's fatality in MK1 should not be called a fatality, because it's not.
So why should we call this new thing, Brutalities when it's not even Brutal?
Names matter.

Its not about the name for me though that does play a role because how can you constantly advertise something as "brutal" when its not even more brutal than what we have already seen. Its about how your basically doing a fatality just a shorter version and seems pointless. Would have been better off including anamalties or just leaving it at all fatalities.

Just to let people know all of the brutalities will be done with throws, combos and special moves. That makes 3 Per character. It also depends on variations. I noticed it like this in the streams.
It looks like the brutalitys were designed so that quicker finishers could be done in tournament play.
Think about it evo has hundreds of matches to get through, so it makes sense that normal fatalitys are to long for the time constraints of a tournament.
Great addition to the game.

The MKX brutalities are not bad. I had no expectations because I hated the MK3 era finisher. To me this is just fluff. A little interesting way to end a match if you so prefer. It's not worth flipping out over either for or against. They're ok.

How is pushing someone into a portal were they are juiced and decapitated while you bath in their blood not brutal? How is planting a bug in someone's chest so it can grow and explode out of it not brutal? If you don't think the chest-burster from Alien is brutal, then I don't know what you were expecting.

When fatalities are more brutal than brutalities, then you know you fucked up.
If ending a match by disrespecting your opponent by catching them off guard by doing a combo in your final round and setting it up in such a way that you end it by doing something like ripping their head off ISN'T considered brutal, then I don't know what the hell is. Some of ya'll are being ridiculous and are refusing to think outside of the year 1995, i swear.

Right cool, because yeah this is a reasonable comparison. Brutalities being "not as brutal" as the comical MKT ones is pretty much the same as having transvestite Scorpion. Gotcha

Lol, I knew I was talking to someone who will just take things sarcastically when he knows he is wrong in the argument.
It's the exact same thing!
Words are much more important than you seem to think.

NO FUCKING WAY! This is exactly what I wanted, I wasn't expecting it to actually happen though. I made an entire thread back when MK9 came out about some mechanic like this. Man this is gonna be so much better for Tournaments.

Fatalities have always been "more brutal" than brutalities. Because brutalities were the SAME EXACT cartoonish explosion over and over again.

Exactly my point!
That's why they sucked back then. they were the exact same thing and they were no where near as brutal as the fatalities.
It's funny that they could change that.

Exactly, You said it yourself, that means those are not brutalities they are short fatalities.
Just because they call them brutalities, doesn't make them so.

Yeah they did, now the brutalities are better. But I guess NRS can't please every dipshit masturbating to a fucking dictionary definition, can they? Your argument is beyond retarded. You make MK_Fanatic look like Einstein.

Well, the first thing that came to mind after watching was...meh.
Sub basically putting a baling hook into Scorp's skull, Scorpion making Sub into a giant red porcupine (nice effect, though), Cassie hitting God knows what that makes D'Vorah's head come off, and Kung Lao basically copying his MKII Fatality. And no Ermac. Ferra/Torr's was OK.
Color me unimpressed. Still, I'll definitely take these over the farcical Brutalities from Trilogy ten out of ten times.

Brutalities are combos that end in bloody finishes. What we saw were combos ending in bloody finishes. What, because there weren't bones and shit, they're not brutalities? What did you have in mind when you heard brutalities would be in the game?
