Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks sold over 1 million copies. Midway HAS to make a part 2. Anyone else agree?

...thought so..

Now *clears throat*, being how MK:SM focused its setting around MK2, it's only logical that MK:SM 2 should focus its setting around MK3, and you know what that means? ...SINDEL!!! Hell yeah, that game was all about her.

But seriously, this is a thread directed to Midway (cuz we all know they read these... at least I think they do...) to help ensure that a sequel to MK: Shaolin Monks will be released. Also make requests about what new features or inclusions you want MK:SM 2 to have.

Let a female character be playable. I hated having only guys to select from, especially Liu and Kung (drop dead BORING!!!) Now I know my gal Queen Sindel doesn't have a chance of being playable (unless the cast is really big, but... doubt it), so I request that Sonya be playable.

Okay that would be pretty cool so *signing*.
I have one request also. Have a lot more characters playable in adventure mode. Maybe kabal, sindel, jax, sonya........ Then it would be really good.

I think a mortal kombat shaolin monks 2 would be awesome. If it were during the mk3 times then i think it would be cool if every one from Mk3 MKT and UMK3 were playable in this game. Also that they have a much more indepth vs mode.

I loved MKSM!

There should definitely be a part 2. It's obvious the setting should involve around MK3/UMK3. However saying that Sindel should take the main role is just a fan request. Not as many Sindel fans in the world as there are more Liu Kang/Kung Lao/ male ninja fans. The gameplay in part 1 was awesome, everything was awesome but they should expand level sizes, improve graphics and character designs. I remember Ed Boon saying that if he had more time to work on the game, he would have added a feature that allows you to play as both Liu and Lao at the same time, and have the ability to switch who you control with 1st player. That is my biggest request on my wishlist.

MKSM has been my favorite MK game in a very long time, and i would love it if they were to make another especially if it were centred around MK3/uMK3/MKT

and the playable character's really should be the chosen warriorrs who's soul's Shao Kahn cannot consume liu kang, kung lao, sub-zero, kabal, stryker, nightwolf, sonya, and jax

MKSM was the most fun I have ever had in a roaming beat em up. Midway managed to beat Sega (Spikeout), Capcom (Final Fight Streetwise) and Namco (I forget the name) with the first title.

I know she won't take the main role, but she was a significant key player in MK3, so if MK:SM 2 revolves are the MK3 setting (which it should), then it's almost certain that Sindel will play SOME role in these story, for without her, the MK3 storyline could have never worked.

I loved MK:SM, so i think they should make a sequel, BUT dont call it MK:SM 2, because the only shaolin monks in MK where kang, lao, and i think Kai.


Oh, and i wouldnt get my hopes up for playing as sindel, i dont think it would make sence playing as someone who is manly evil for about 75% of the game


If they do have like all the chars. people want, so should have differnt modes (like kano and kabal have one story, jax and sonya another, and then kang/lao have a nother one)

I would hate the ending, because then it would show Kung Lao being mortaly wounded, and everyone thinking hes dead

Sure, why not? As long as it is canon, and not a bunch of BS like the first game. It should be centered around MK3-MKT, and have at least three playable characters. Some possible options for another tag team are Sonya and Jax. Since they kind of led the resistance against Shao Kahn's invasion, why not make them playable?

I never said I was expecting for Sindel to be playable. I know she won't be. That's why my request was to let Sonya be playable. That's a realistic request.

Hmm... Somehow I thought this thread would attract more petition signatures. I mean MK:Shaolin Monks WAS the best MK spin-off video game ever, and a very successful game on its own.

All I know is that it was the best free-roaming fighting game I have ever played, but it had too much holding me back from buying a copy. Mainly the fact that there were only guys to play as, which is unsatisfying for me.

I'm dying for a bigger, better version of MK:SM... a sequel, but with at least one female being playable, and not that typical "pretty, delicate" Kitana. I want Sonya playable. But they better not make her face look like a man, like in MKSM 1.

And it better revolve around MK3 because Sindel was a key player in that game's storyline, so I'm hoping she'll make an appearance if MK:SM revolves around that game. Hopefully, she'll be a boss.

i wouldn't mind seeing another one. but seeing how they tried to retcon half the damn story i'd prefer they stay out of the "known" mk timeline. i'd like to see something along the lines of shang tsung's rise to power. how he started out, how he met shao kahn, the specifics of his takeover of the mortal kombat tournament, stuff like that.

Shaolin Monks 2? Zero interest.

I'd rather the next adventure game be about Kitana, Mileena, and Jade when they were all still loyal to Shao Kahn or about Shao Kahn & his rise to power..
I enjoyed the gameplay, so I'd sign under the condition that the story is designed to fill in plot gaps. I will not support another game that's thrown out "just because." I don't care for more "what if" stuff.
